chargit: can you take a pic of what the heck you're talking about? the bezel for the 3G and 3GS requires glue to be attached to the back housing.

First of all, if anyone is using a pry tool to open their iPhone 3G or 3GS they already screwed up. The iphone isn't opened like that. You remove two screws and then the screen is lifted out.
I have attached two images showing where the bezel is attached to the backing. The first screw is at the upper left corner of the phone where the headphone jack is. The screw goes through the headphone jack, bezel, and into the back.
Then there are two screws that go through the back of the iphone, the screen, and then into the bezel.
No glue is necessary to hold the iPhone together.
Sorry for the image quality.

I think chargit is saying that... if you buy 'original' parts the chrome comes already attached to the rear panel

I seriously doubt if you buy THIS part you are going to have to glue anything.

How did they attach the chrome part to the plastic back housing? It only snap on and it is very strong unless they use glue.
That is not what I am discussing. I am just saying that from the more reputable places, it SEEMS to come pre-attached, not getting into how it is attached. I myself wouldn't bother and just buy pre-assembled as it is supposed to be.
By original I mean.. as apple gets it, when apple does a repair, I seriously doubt the techs will be fumbling with super glue and clamps.
