I think the fact that the claim was made by John C Dvorak is what killed the claim.

I've met sandwiches with a better grasp on reality than Dvorak.

Dvorak has been a long time critic of Apple Computer, even during his stint as a columnist for MacUser magazine. In 1984 he famously criticized their inclusion of a computer mouse with their computers, saying "There is no evidence that people want to use these things."

that is funny..

Adobe has said that CS3 will arrive in the spring of 2007, but as far as I know they haven't said anything about Photoshop Elements. PE 5 was announced recently for Windows. I wonder if PE 5 for Mac will be announced sooner and independently of Creative Suite.

Edit: Fixed version info.

I am surprised more people are not irritated with Adobe's blatant lazyness here. I mean... if Quark can release a U.B. (and we know what a mess of a company Quark is) why can't Adobe? I know there are more programs but, geez.....

Considering that Photoshop Elements 4.0 for Mac was in question and arrived much later than the Windows version and that it depends on Photoshop for its code, it is extremely unlikely that version 5.0 will arrive more than a few months later than CS3.
