Has Adobe made any plans making PSE4 UB? I don't have an intel mac yet so it's not a big deal, but I may be getting one sometime soon.

speed is pretty good on my imac

That's good to hear. I have an Intel iMac and I'm really looking into getting PSE4 as a more powerful alternative to iPhoto.

How much RAM do you have on your Mac?

The way I understand it is that PSE is sort of based heavily on the codebase of the previous CS, and therefore PSE4 is based heavily on CS2. CS2 is not going to be made UB (CS3 is supposed to have Intel binaries, though). So I would guess that PSE4 will not be made UB..... :( But that's all speculation.

Does anyone know of a more interesting icon for PSE 4.0?

I find this one to be quite boring.

I'll bump this once. I've asked in the Post your Dock forum as well and haven't recieved an answer. If you know of a better looking icon for PSE 4, please help, if not I'll live with it and stop bugging about it.

Here is the PSE 2.0 icon. That is the version I have. Will get 4.0 when I get my MacBook in the near future.

my dumb question...

How do you create more than on layer of the same image on top of eachother? I want to have two copies of the same image and then edit one of them. So far I've gone Duplicate Layer, and that seems to work, but then when I change the backup layer, it changes from two layers to one layer.

Help??

Well I figured out that I was merging the layers. Now though, when I try the make one of the images black and white it edits both of them. How can I make the top image B&W and the bottom layer color?

[EDIT] Figured out how to move one image onto the other. Problem solved.

You should be able to click on the layer in the layer palette that you want to modify and then, edit it. Make sure only one is selected. You can check to see the look of the individual layers by turning off the eye icon for the other layers.

By the way, you should have created a new thread to get help.

Yeah, after I posted I figured that I should just start a thread. Next time I have a PSE question I'll make one called "Photoshop Elements 4.0: My Dumb Questions," or something like that.
