If it’s £1050 for 256GB I’ll get that model - if it’s a penny more I’ll go 64GB.

Ah the waiting game is painful isn’t it? Put in for my recycling today at £450 for the 7+ 128GB. Got my trusty old iPhone 6 to tide me over in the meantime.

I suppose it’s really not long now to wait. Just hope I’m not unlucky. I wonder what the probability of getting it on launch day is if you order the second pre-orders come on to Apple UK website this year. No way of knowing for sure I suppose

Just 12 more days for announcement and 15 more days for pre orders.

Install the Apple Store app on your iPhone. After announcement, add your configuration of iPhone 8 to your bag. Then when the pre orders go live on the 15th at 8am, open the Apple Store app (its the first to get updated), go to your bag, and checkout using Apple Pay! It’s the quickest way of securing the device.

Good advice, just got the app.

Sticking with Music Magpie I think. Their price is still £495 for my 256gb 7 Plus. I'll check back every day to cancel/reorder as long as the price stays like that. Every extra day counts! Hopefully they don't get funny about me constantly cancelling.

Locked in and confirmed £450 for my 128GB iPhone 7 Plus.

Possible leak today that the “X Edition” will come in 128GB and 256GB only.

It would be awesome if that was $999 in the USA for 128GB and £949 in the UK (going by the current USD -> GBP - £50 thing). I would be delighted. @ssrij do you think that seems quite likely, if it’s true there will only be two storage options?

Well it might come in 128GB and 256GB only like the Jet Black did last year, but I think it will be 64/256/512GB instead at the price points I stated few posts ago, since it’s a higher end model.

It will definitely be $999 for base model, that has been confirmed by the top trusted sources, although there’s always a tiny possibility that Apple will change things, but I’m absolutely certain it will be $999 for base model in US and £949 in UK.

Let’s see, official details are only 11 days away now!

Anybody got an iPhone from O2 delivered to a work address? Are they ok with somebody else other than yourself signing for it?

I'm not sure that you will be able to add anything to your bag until orders go live, will you?

Is anyone else here taking up o2's Early Upgrade promotion that they ran with tariffs of >30GB when iPhone 7/7 Plus launched last year?

Am toying with the idea but it really depends on pricing.

I went with it last year, a matte black 7plus, on their 30GB tariff on launch day. I was still waiting in December. I cancelled my order and ordered direct from Apple and had it within a week. I'm now SIM only on O2 as I like their service but I'm always getting my hardware from Apple.

I will be going with EE with their 4G max plan. I know there were big issues with getting it on time from them along with every carrier.

getting it via apple might be quicker but if it's £1200 for the 256GB I will have to get it on contract. Don't want to pay that upfront.

Does anyone have any experience with Sky Mobile? Considering a potential switch.

Dependent on pricing and tariffs I might switch to EE as well.

Am with Lloyds Bank and they are offering £50 cash back if I take out a contract with them.

I work for Tesco Mobile and would get staff discount but would miss VVM, VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling to be honest.

Yeah I saw that £50 cashback pop up on my Lloyds account too. I would switch, because O2 4G in Bournemouth is trash, but I'm stuck in the middle of a 24 month contract. Maybe next year.

going sim free, got a O2 sim for £19 and 10GB data

Sick of paying £40+ a month for crap from O2.

im sure i've seen better deals for cheaper, shop around

I'm running the 20GB for £20 black friday O2 deal from last year plus a mifi on the hotukdeals EE £30GB for £15 (latter heavily shared with my children streaming stuff), so it's definitely worth keeping your eyes peeled. It's also an advantage of getting an unlocked phone if you're intending to keep it more than a year.

I would add re where to get one from, I picked up my current 6 the day after release by reserving launch night (didn't they used to update stock at something like 8pm daily) and walking in with no waiting lines. If pre-order goes south for me, this will be my next plan. The phone's performance has dropped off a cliff the past few weeks as if it knows it's about to be traded in...

Where I am o2's 4G coverage isn't too bad (assume it's part of the Cornerstone project).

I can upgrade w/o2 from September 9 as part of a promotion they ran last year; no doubt prices are starting to fall ahead of Apple's keynote presentation in a few days time but guess I could sell my handset and finalise my o2 Refresh tariff.

Thank you.

So I presume:

Tues 12th - Event
Fri 15th - Pre-orders
Fri 22nd - Launch Date

Ordering in the first minute or two on the 15th should guarantee 22nd delivery via Apple, but via O2 it might not.

Very tricky situation.
Carphone will have much more stock than any of the carriers. You stand a much better chance with them, although the costs will work out a little different as you’ll have to pay off your whole plan, not just the device aspect. Best to go into Carphone and ask them to check how much your early upgrade fee is, then go from there.

Ooh that’s the best price I’ve seen.

I do get a bit twitchy about sending a phone off like that, in case they claim it’s faulty or something. Am I just being paranoid? My 7+ is in perfect nick.

Also you say to sell it the day before the keynote - but won’t their price have decreased by then do you think? I have an iPhone 6 I can use in the meantime.
Most of those sites are legit, but I’ve had one tell me the phone was beyond repair and worth £10 rather than £110, and I had Royal Mail lose another phone that I sent. These things seem to be rare, but they’re possible.
