If you need a computer now for work, school, whatever reason that justifies you requiring to have computer at this present moment in time, then just go out and get one.

Computers get faster and faster, designs change here and there it is impossible to keep waiting and waiting for the next update/refresh and whatsoever.

If you are not urgent to get one, by all means wait a round and see. If not, don't wait. It is a never ending cycle....

remind yourself that it's possible that you might die before the '12 is released and never get a new macbook period....

oh wait, i guess that doesn't help :D

Step 1: Do you need it now?

Step 2A: If yes buy it now.

Step 2B: If no buy it later.

Example: I do not absolutely require a new MBP right now to do work, therefore I will wait to see if the new MBP will be worth the update. If not, I will buy a new one off Amazon.

Meh.

I ordered a new MBP last friday. I need it for work, and no way am I going to sacrifice productivity one day longer than I need just to wait for something that might or moght not arrive this saide of summer. It just does not make any sense.

I would rather wait a couple of months on the off chance they stick an SSD into it as standard - saving me the ridiculous money they currently cost as an upgrade at present. I will need a fast beast of a machine in coming months......just not yet, so I can afford to wait.

I would rather buy and use it now. I can always sell it and buy another. But that is just me

Well the problem here is A. the effort to go around selling it and B. the financial loss from the sale. For most people, including myself, the time and effort I would need to put forth, as well as the loss from the sale, would not be worth the trouble of using an MBP for a measly month.

I'm a graphic design student who has her final jury in june. I've been waiting for 1,5 year to upgrade my Macbook Pro. (15 inch mbp 2007) Now, he's too slow to even work properly. Everyday I loose at least an hour because my laptop is crashing. If not more. I can't do anything with photoshop anymore, and even my Chrome is difficult to use. Of course, I can buy an old windows, but that doesn't solve my problem. Then, i will have problems with the user display and environment i'm not used to anymore. Then, when all my files are in order i have to switch back to mac... hmm. There's also the fact that cheaper laptops will have the same problem i have right now: they just aren't as powerful enough. The next months are really crucial and this switching to an other laptop and back just doesn't work for me.

Clean install the OS, and it will be as it was then it was new. Hardware doesn't slow down. It keeps working or it breaks.
