It doesn't rain that much.

If you don't mind baseball, check out Yankee Stadium. It's the last season there before it gets torn down. It's a simple subway ride away, nothing complicated.

If you really wanna be touristy, check out the Statue of Liberty and The Empire State Building.

We got plenty of food in the city, so you can easily find something to suit your tastebuds.

If you're 21 there are plenty of bars to check out. A personal fav of mine is Porky's.

Like the idea of the baseball game.

Have already done all the touristy stuff multiple times before though. Trying to see/do something different each time I visit now.

Bars sound good to me. :)

Thanks again!

You're in luck!

The Yankees are home at the end of June going into July.

Yankees Schedule

Ideally the best games to get to are Yankee v Boston, but those are mostly likely sold out.

Glad to hear you did the touristy stuffs, now it's on to bigger and better things.

Bars are a plenty.

Enjoy! :D

... and the good news is that at the end of June you'll be able to watch the Mets beat the Yankees at Yankee stadium! But seriously, if you like baseball it would probably be cool to hit both Shea and Yankee Stadium since they are both in their final seasons.

A few places that I used to frequent:

bar: Art Bar on 8th Ave (between Horatio and Jane)
lounge: Stone Rose, Columbus Circle
best Chinese food in the city: New Green Bo, 66 Bayard St
best Thai: Peep on Prince St (few blocks west of the SoHo Apple Store)

Also, an interesting museum that most people don't get to and that is especially beautiful in the summer is The Cloisters. It is way uptown but if the website draws your interest I can assure you it doesn't do it justice.

I'm also fond of spending time in Central Park, catching a play off-broadway and believe it or not, even as someone who lived there for years, those double-decker bus tours that leave from Times Square can be pretty fun.

And as far as the Apple Stores go, go see 5th Ave if you haven't before, but it's just an annoying, overcrowded tourist trap.

Second the rec to visit the Cloisters. It's gorgeous up there!

Have you ever seen the Cathedral of St. John the Divine? It's on 112th and Amsterdam, and it's quite vast. Worth a trip. Columbia University is from about 116-120th streets. I'd advise walking up Broadway instead of Amsterdam, and then crossing over to Amsterdam on 112th.

This isn't particularly seasonal, but I recently discovered the many joys of Chinese pastry (called "bau" – not sure if that's the correct spelling). There are some awesome sticky buns, danish-type rolls, etc. Really super good, and cheap. Hit Chinatown and enjoy the food!

Cloisters it is then! :) Was on my list last time also but I didn't manage to get there.

Have been to Cathedral of St. John the Divine a few years back... and stumbled on *THE* Tom's Diner just down the road also. :) Recognised it from Seinfeld but didn't know it was the one from Vega's song at the time. Travelling with my partner this time who hasn't seen the Cathedral so may have to revisit that too.

Have to check out the Chinese pastries! Food is good! :) Just had a friend return from NY who's recommended the cakes and pastries at Balthazar in Soho so I'll be checking that out.
