Tracy: Of interests i would like to compare the US contract with the norwegian one. Could you list up the monthly fee for the cheapest way to get the iPhone 3GS in the US (state doesnt matter, if theres any difference).

Our cheapest way to the iphone 3GS is.
- 435 $ for the phone itself and then
- 25$ or month for 12 months.

and after that you can change to whoever you want to be in contract with.

This should help.... but it appears it is $39.99 for the cheapest regular, PLUS the $30 data plan. With a two year contract. One is the individual plans, the other is family plans (share the minutes, but still pay the $30 for data)

Err. Thats veeery expensive o_o.
But its hard to convince my brain to change its mind :(

It might be dumb to ask this question here but, does anyone own a HTC hero?
Im very interested in it after seeing how you can customize it. But i heard it lags and the browser stinks compared to the iphone 3GS.

For touch/iphones: Can you even arrange the icons on the screen? Or does the device just place them randomly when you install them?

Yup, expensive here. You have a cheaper option though - so we can all be jealous!

Do you have the option of buying a Touch and returning it if you don't think it will work for you?

Yes you can rearrange the icons, and you can do it in iTunes now too - which is nice. Before you had to do it all on the screens - and it was a PITA moving something from page 11 to 1.

I don't know anyone with a Hero, i'm sure there are some forums out there for some answers. The problem will be getting someone to really be fair in comparing them.

I can say that if i had the option to get the iPhone at the prices you posted and the short contract (assuming those are US $ values), i'd do it. Well, maybe not if it was AT&T, but you don't have to worry about that! Last I knew that even when you buy an unlocked phone, or a used one, you HAVE to have a 2 year contract. Which stinks.

Good luck deciding - it's hard i know!

Just wanted to say thanks for all the help everyone :)

And i ordered a HTC Hero, it was on 520$ this weekend, i couldnt resist it. :) (USD by the way) Still going on my no-apple-product-yet-strek :p
