I think it depends what other gadgets you've got and what you need them for. I've got the 16gb iPhone 4 which to be honest does me fine as I've got a 120gb iPod classic which is exclusively used for music in my car then I have a little music on my iPhone for when I'm walking around to and from college etc. I also just got a 32gb iPad which I can use for more of the bigger sized apps that I have on my iphone like some games.

you'll get your $100 back when you sell your phone
No you won't. What makes you think you will? 16GB 3GS's aren't resold for 100 bucks less than their 32GB counterparts.

You either buy what you need or you don't. No need to start a thread about something as trivial and arbitrary as this. Is 16GB too less for you, get the 32GB: it's that simple. I myself would have bought a 8GB model if I could have...

yeah i totally agree, just go for the 32gb only because you'll have the phone for a while, and im sure besides the music and apps that your photos/videos will gradually increase over time and that extra space will come in handy.

my only grip with that is how you (or i) would be paying the tax for an unsubsidized price for the 32gb ip4 if u live in california :(

32gb. little more expensive but you, most likely, will never have to worry about running out of space, managing your apps, etc, with a 32gb. If you're taking a lot of pics/vids of your kid then the videos alone with chew into the free space on your phone. And, whenever it comes time to sell it, the 32gb will always fetch a higher price than the 16gb. Go with whatever you feel appropriate but if you can swing it, I'd recommend the 32gb.

Generally speaking on eBay at least, yes, they are. :)

Personally, I went with the 32GB

I have almost over 16GB worth of music alone, and I wanted to be able to put everything on my iPhone. I hated on my 3G not being able to have all my music on my phone. The extra $100 is well worth it IMO.

If you have the extra $100, get the 32GB. I remember getting the 3G two years ago, I originally got the 8GB. A week later I was paying the restocking fee to swap to the 16GB. Learned my lesson then and there. If you carry any media, songs or movies, or plan to do any video recording, then you should get the 32GB, if it's not too much of a financial burden, not to mention, as others have said, you'll get some of it back when you sell it.
