iPod touch Advice: Worth getting iPod 5G?

That's the thing though - it isn't. The Touch 5g still works perfectly, and is still sold as new. They may be "2011" internals, but they're also 2014 internals. It's not top spec, and it's not winning any awards for benchmarks. It is, however, still a totally functional and usable device. There are very, very few things it can't handle, even today.

You can argue it and bash the 5G touch all you want. Whether you like it or not it's still a current device that a lot of people enjoy, and that suits many's needs.

Well I checked the serial number and manufacturing was end of may. It also gave me free iWork apps so it has to be pretty new at the least.



So far I'm loving it! Yeah it's a bit slower compared to my iphone 5 but that's not an issue. It's mostly for music/podcasts and dumb games (2048, plants vs zombies, angry birds type) anyways



the ipad is for heavier games/ tasks where I jump back and forth. Same deal with my phone where I go back and forth from safari and messages.

What do you use your iPhone for then?

It's not a modern device no matter how you may wish to dress it up - my advice would be not to purchase 2011 specs in 2014.

I think i would just sell my ipad 2 and add more money to get the mini retina.

Afterall, the price is not very far from Ipod touch 32gb. Sure u get only 16gb wifi but i hated having to constantly charge both my iphone and ipod touch.

Could sound irrelevant but Ipad mini seem like a better deal than Ipod touch because of better battery and make more sense if u already own an iphone.

I'm looking to buy a 64GB iPod touch for picture taking, quick home videos, and music.

I think I'm going to hold off until the event on Sept 9th just to see if something with a better camera and A6 is coming.

I would sell the iPhone 5, and use the money you would spend on a 64GB iPod touch and get a 64GB iPhone 5S or a 64GB iPhone 6 when released

Its a light device (more Than my touch 4gen) but dont buy it at this moment. The A5 is getting old and touch needs a recent SoC with 1 gb RAM...

I'll buy an iPhone only if Apple will discontinue Touch. Wi-fi is enough for me to internet. I've plenty of hotspots where i live and fortunately i'm not internet dependent...
