advise on color please?

Had:
Black 3GS
Black 4
Black 4S

White 5
Black/Space Gray 5S - Did not enjoy the front black for the 12 days I owned it - despite being discrete I just enjoyed the White front way more - Since no gold, went with Silver and couldn't be happier.

As other's have said, color shouldn't be based on gender.

I suggest you play around with someone's iPhone 5/5S of both colors if possible (doesn't have to be at the same time) and see which one suits you better.
 
Here's how I broke my decision down:

Space Gray - classy, stealthy and sexy. Shows dirt and fingerprints very easily. Scratches show like crazy because it's silver underneath

Silver - stands out, shows very few fingerprints or dirt, silver ring on Touch ID sticks out and is gorgeous. Scratches are hard to see because it is solid silver all the way through.

Gold: kinda Gaudy but looks really nice in person, I personally didn't go with it for the reason that I think I would tire of the gold...and it wasn't available. scratches show like crazy because it's silver underneath

My choice: Silver
 
Here's a crazy idea. Go to the store. Look at both colors. Choose the one you like better.
 
Maybe one day ill order a space grey housing and swap out the backs black glass for white and use my white front with it... I think that would be an awesome combo.
 
I don't care what anyone says, I feel like rocking a white phone is feminine, and I'm plenty secure with myself.

When I see a guy with a white phone, I think to myself ..that guy probably still wears briefs, with rainbows and unicorns on them, and sits down when he takes a pee.

And Gold phone? Well that's still white too...but to me it's even worse than the original white because it just screams I'm a poser.
Gold is a fad, that played out on the 90's and is now is back in style.
Half a dozen years ago, no one would touch anything gold, so the craze of getting the gold iphone isn't because they want to be different, it's because they went to be trendy, and that sure seems like more of an insecurity issue to me.

Right or wrong, if you're asking for an opinion, that's just mine.
Ultimately its your decision, get whatever you like best and you'll e happy with it.
 
One reason I like the white face iPhone is if it's new it has to be an 'S'. 5C's have black faces………I wonder how many jumped on the gray and now wish maybe that they had gotten silver or gold?

OP posts very first time today, with this kind of post, not coming back yet, and asking about which color. Me thinks he is either very young or a troll. To bad we cannot allow the Moderator to purge such "Help Me With A Color Choice" questions and some others.

I had a nick and dint in the first gold iPhone 5S I received, and I did not see silver in these dints or nicks. Just an FYI from what I noticed. Not saying you are wrong, but I don't know that it should really be a consideration against the gold.

I honestly haven't used the Gold. My black iPhone showed the silver underneath, but idk about gold tbh, I was just assuming based on the gold just being a layer on top of silver

had a black 5 and just ordered a white/silver 5s .. i really like the clean look of the white .. had white in the 4s and black in the 4
