Sounds like a good reason to wait a few more days (weeks?) for Apple to issue 10.7.3.1. I avoid "work arounds" whenever I can, so waiting for the official fix is fine with me.

Actually, 10.7.2 pretty much took care of the battery problem on my MBP, and that pretty much satisfied me. Even if there are still some minor bugs ("gnats"), OSX still runs circles around Windows. Nuff said.

I will admit, it does look pretty snazzy =)I have no problem with people making their system look the way they want. Most people aren't smart enough, unlike you, to realize that it was something that they had installed that caused the problem. And just continue to complain that apple messed something up, or my favorite is when they time machine it back and the same thing happens again not realizing, hmmm maybe its something in the time machine image i used that is causing it, because it doesn't affect them until they install the update. There should be a customization community and there should be a haxie community. It just drives me crazy when they say apple's update messed up my system instead of the haxie i did screwed up the OS update.

i dunno if you're attacking me or what not but by no means was i blaming my machine or apple for their updates. i just installed a custom, and i messed it up myself. that's the end of the story. people make mistakes, simple ones. the only thing they can do is learn from them or fix them. i agree with bdodds, just normal human error. i also have a time machine backup and i can simply role back also, but i choose not to. it's not the end of the world where i have a white menu bar. it's not affecting me in any manner. i'm just a person who enjoys my stuff and made a simple mistake. if that post you made was not an insult towards me than i am sorry.

jeeez :(( god bless 10.6.8...hope they release 10.8 beta soon so I would have to dig into something - I'm staying on 10.6 too long!
10.7 seems to be a fail Apple.. :/

Crashed on 10.7.3 after combo update. I decided download clear OS X and tried to get 10.7.3 from Internet recovery. Server still have 10.7.2 hmmm

I was hit too by the angry bird bug (cui, cui, cui sounds like a bird!). I've been able to download the combo update and install it from the Terminal application in the Recovery Mode. Apple should really release quickly a KB article explaining how to recover a "bricked" installation without a complete re-install or a Time Machine recovery (I know... I should have updated my backup before installing this update).

Seems like Apple revised 10.7.3 from 11D50 to 11D50b:apple:

No i wasn't attacking you, I was saying you are one of the few who realizes that its not apples fault when you tinker with something and it messes up. =) I agree 100% people should be able to change things to their liking but realizes by doing so it might take extra steps on their part.

99.00 % agree with derekamoss above......

Just wanted to weigh in and update my previous post....

Updated yesterday, and reported here that I had no issues. For the heck of it, I wiped my hard drive using the secured clean and later installed clean the update again and still no issues. Did not use Time Machine either. Confused as to why others have this issue, since we all download from the same site. I have not installed anything goofy or made any changes and left Lion stock (Default) if that has anything to do with the issues some are having.

Good luck guy/gals ;)

Updated as well, we have 6 machines at home. 2011 iMac, 2009 iMac, 2009 MBP, 2010 MBA, 2010 Mini and a 2011 Mini and every one of them are working just fine. Also did son-in-laws 2 Macs and friends 3 Macs and the 3 I have at work.
Am always confused when I hear of people having problems, OS or Hardware related, I have not had an issue with any of our computers.
Hopefully you guys with problems get squared away soon. Cheers
