That's the route I was going to do myself but then my company slammed the door on android accessing the exchange servers, so that made my decision easy.

Thats a shame they both have so much to offer. People seem to take sides very easily but competion drives the market and in reality this battle is for the better. Iphone will realize they need to make changes to keep customers and android needs to make there os a little more user friend my .2

I LOL in the other direction. I too have a HTC Inspire 4g after using every version of the iphone. I got 1600mh battery on Ebay fixed the battery issue and it did not cost that much. We have to keep the brightness down on the iphone too so that's funny.

Everyone has different reasons and functionality that draws then to different platforms. I wanted more access to the hardware, like being able to shut the ringer off and get a popup asking how long until you want to turn the ringer back on. I can flip the phone over and the speakerphone comes on automatically.

As far as the camera is concerned, never crashed. You can control ISO and other manual settings which allows me to take decent low light pictures.

I had to jailbreak to get other stuff working that I don't have to with an android platform. That also leads to issues as well. You can't just go installing any app as you might get a malicious developer wanting information or control similar to issues with PC's.

Anyway, I love Apple and I also have an Ipad but I'll tell you, the android OS is very cool and has come a long way.

I'm looking at the wifi Xoom when it comes out.

I agree. We have 4 EVO 4Gs (Sprint) in my house and every one loves them. My son took over 500 pics on our trip this summer and all were great quality. The EVO comes with 8GB ram standard and I've never has less than 7GB free, and I have 25+ kindle books + lots of other items and applications, some of which Apple would not like on the iphone. With a $50.00 extended battery and case I'm good for at least a whole day, phone, data, tethering to my MBP when away from off/home. Only down side is I need to use Mark/Space wifi to sync to MBP.

I lusted after an iphone but AT&T personnel and plans killed my every attempt to acquire one. I'd never give up my MBP, although my college has tried to force me with M$ only products, but I always found a better Apple way. I probably could find a better experience with Verizon for the iphone but for now the HTC EVO gives me equal service. I'm not raging on the iphone as Apple has set the bar for all others to rise to and the innovation and quality of all my Apple products is second to none, just that Android can be a viable alternative to those that can't have an iphone or can't stand the AT&T experience.

You no longer have to turn off your wife? WOW!

Although, not me... my batteries in my remote run out quite often... too much use.

Best remote ever. Too bad not all models come with one.

I don't get this whole Android vs iPhone crap. If you like the iPhone and iOS, purchase the iPhone... If you like Android, then purchase an android device. Are things really that complicated these days? People need to argue over which device is better?

Waste of time in my eyes. Use which ever device YOU like more and call it a day.

I went through the same thing, switching from a iPhone 3G to a Google Nexus One. If I didn't know iOS existed and was still using a Symbian or WinMo phone, then I'd think Android was pretty nice, but that's not the case and I switched to an iP4 after a few months.

Like the OP, I recently went to android, but haven't looked back... yet.

The only thing I miss from iPhone is its iTunes Remote. Although there are similar solutions for android, none are as seamless as Apple iTunes Remote.

Android OS is light years ahead of iOS. I've been using this phone for 5 days now, and while it does take some time to learn new tricks, once you get the hang of it, the OS really starts to shine.

I went with HTC Inspire 4G. The screen is beautiful - it was the first thing that attracted me to the phone. After fiddling with the phone for a few minutes, I chose it over iPhone 3GS. My iPhone 3G's home button stopped working, so I was in need of an upgrade. For the price difference, the answer was obvious: HTC Inspire 4G (as a phone), and Android OS (for its features).

Of course, there are a few minor nuisances about the phone, but they all have them. I am glad to say that I'm very happy with my purchase, and plan to do a better review and comparison of both phones soon, as I use it more.

i got the att Atrix well i will be returning this the #1 reason is the market palace what a mess

The one App That i use is USA Today and it will Crashed The phone that i have to reastart the phone

i have kids under 9 and they like games and the game quality is not the same and was up with all the porn wallpaper lol

The hardware on android phones will always be (arguably) superior than the iphone's. The evo has a 4.3 inch screen or something like that and a 8 megapixel camera slapped on to it as opposed to the iphone's 5. Sure, the camera on the evo is better on paper, but in my observations, the iphone's pics are superior than the evo's. As iphone users, we sacrifice various forms of hardware and being to have the most functional software. It sometimes feels like i ripped my self of when i look at an android phone but when i go to use it, i realize i have nothing to regret.

8 GB of RAM, really?

And you paid an extra $50 to augment a battery that shouldn't need something like that in the first place?

Haha I've done the same thing you have with a couple of my iPhones. I don't see myself switching again since I've tried the android platform. Converting from an iPhone, it's not easy when you are taken care of. We are honestly all spoiled with our iPhones in comparison to other platforms.

Can't complain

I went to the HTC Desire from the 3GS - for the first week I thought it was amazing..but as time went on I found myself downloading apps for basic things that iPhone did as standard, I had to charge it from my desktop through the day to have any chance of it lasting all day and feared it may one day set me on fire as it got so hot watching/using Flash. Needless to say, I went back to iPhone when ip4 was released. I have however found myself pondering looking into android again recently as the iPhone/iOS just isn't keeping pace with android OS IMO. One thing that does put me off is the worry that I may buy some nice hardware but then not get the OS updates as they're released - this is where apple excel I think - they look after their customers in a way no other company does.

Could you please be more specific. In what kind of ways is Android ahead of ios?

Just curious, don't have much android experience

Sorry, what I meant was...that google release updates more often (major updates) than apple do, rather than anything specific. I feel that they are perhaps more agressive with their releases and give the people what they want - it took ages for copy and paste to come to iOS, and apple still haven't reviewed the notification system that everyman and his dog seems to hate (personally I don't mind it).

Hope that clears it up. :D

I have head it takes months to get uprates for androids except the virgin android?

This is what I expect to hear on a homer forum like this, hah.

What the hell else did you expect on a forum FOR Apple products.

Use your head FFS ...

Would you expect anything else but pro-Chelsea posts on a Chelsea fan forum?

Think.

Although, in my years here, this place has descended into a forum that exists more for non-Apple users to criticise then moan at any pro-Apple posts which dishing out the "fanboy" card.

After 2 1/2 years with the iPhone (currently i4) I'm seriously thinking of getting a Droid Bionic when it's released. The main reason is the 4.3" screen which is so much more useful than the 3.5" iPhone screen. Unless they make some radical changes in iOS 5 it's going to continue feeling dated compared to what Android can do.

Pish ...

Then again, some people get a hard on for weather widgets and big clocks on their lockscreen.

I have seen NOTHING from anyone, bar perhaps HTC, who do an Android skin that makes iOS look outdated.
