I am also using the ipod touch andoid phone combo i mean why not get the best of both worlds
TouchDown app for Android will get you there. That's the route I was going to do myself but then my company slammed the door on android accessing the exchange servers, so that made my decision easy.
I LOL in the other direction. I too have a HTC Inspire 4g after using every version of the iphone. I got 1600mh battery on Ebay fixed the battery issue and it did not cost that much. We have to keep the brightness down on the iphone too so that's funny.
Everyone has different reasons and functionality that draws then to different platforms. I wanted more access to the hardware, like being able to shut the ringer off and get a popup asking how long until you want to turn the ringer back on. I can flip the phone over and the speakerphone comes on automatically.
As far as the camera is concerned, never crashed. You can control ISO and other manual settings which allows me to take decent low light pictures.
I had to jailbreak to get other stuff working that I don't have to with an android platform. That also leads to issues as well. You can't just go installing any app as you might get a malicious developer wanting information or control similar to issues with PC's.
Anyway, I love Apple and I also have an Ipad but I'll tell you, the android OS is very cool and has come a long way.
I'm looking at the wifi Xoom when it comes out.

You no longer have to turn off your wife? WOW!
Although, not me... my batteries in my remote run out quite often... too much use.

I agree. We have 4 EVO 4Gs (Sprint) in my house and every one loves them. My son took over 500 pics on our trip this summer and all were great quality. The EVO comes with 8GB ram standard and I've never has less than 7GB free, and I have 25+ kindle books + lots of other items and applications, some of which Apple would not like on the iphone. With a $50.00 extended battery and case I'm good for at least a whole day, phone, data, tethering to my MBP when away from off/home. Only down side is I need to use Mark/Space wifi to sync to MBP.
I went to the HTC Desire from the 3GS - for the first week I thought it was amazing..but as time went on I found myself downloading apps for basic things that iPhone did as standard, I had to charge it from my desktop through the day to have any chance of it lasting all day and feared it may one day set me on fire as it got so hot watching/using Flash. Needless to say, I went back to iPhone when ip4 was released. I have however found myself pondering looking into android again recently as the iPhone/iOS just isn't keeping pace with android OS IMO. One thing that does put me off is the worry that I may buy some nice hardware but then not get the OS updates as they're released - this is where apple excel I think - they look after their customers in a way no other company does.
Could you please be more specific. In what kind of ways is Android ahead of ios?
Just curious, don't have much android experience
Sorry, what I meant was...that google release updates more often (major updates) than apple do, rather than anything specific. I feel that they are perhaps more agressive with their releases and give the people what they want - it took ages for copy and paste to come to iOS, and apple still haven't reviewed the notification system that everyman and his dog seems to hate (personally I don't mind it).
Hope that clears it up.![]()
This is what I expect to hear on a homer forum like this, hah.
After 2 1/2 years with the iPhone (currently i4) I'm seriously thinking of getting a Droid Bionic when it's released. The main reason is the 4.3" screen which is so much more useful than the 3.5" iPhone screen. Unless they make some radical changes in iOS 5 it's going to continue feeling dated compared to what Android can do.
Like the OP, I recently went to android, but haven't looked back... yet.
I've been using this phone for 5 days now....
