To avoid iPhoneboredomness Syndrome try getting an older Android phone that you can get on a budget on Amazon or eBay. The best to get are Nexus devices as you get the latest updates. Don't get fooled by the feature bombardment of Samsungs or LGs. It's not worth getting a $700 Android phone if it's the first time you're switching to it.

That's exactly what I did. Whenever I get bored with iPhone I switch to my Nexus.

Some may also recommend jailbreaking. I have done it. However, I find switching back to stock iOS because I find most jailbreak features too fancy, intrusive or just apps that are simply too darn underdeveloped. And if you're a newbie, it can be a daunting task.

So go Nexus, and you'll never be bored.

I keep thinking of the 'good old days' of my 'Windows Phone', a Treo. It was a never ending drama operation.

I lost my contact list several times, once having BOTH the Peewee and the Treo lists disappearing. I could never get texting or email to work on the damn thing. The camera was ok, but I really wanted to do more with it. I lived through the first (as I remember it) iteration if the 'New Era Of Windows Phones' and it was a dud. I got more menus, and the same lack of usable features. I even took it in to the Verizon Gods, and they worked on it for a few hours (really) and couldn't get it to work either.

It would freeze up, the battery would go from half to zero, it would drop calls, and occasionally I would hear other peoples conversations like on a party line, although they couldn't hear me. It's the only unlocked phone I have, so I keep it around. Might be good for a museum at some point. (I found the 'Fantastic World Class Upgrade' for the last version of Windows Phone software, and tossed it. It felt surprisingly good, cathartic)

But, the drama... The 'That shouldn't happen!' and puzzled looks from the Verizon people. The lack of apps. The locked down features, locked by Verizon.:mad::confused::(
