far from mathematically impossible....anyway you get the point. There are several ways that the watch could have gotten wet over 500 times by now. Washing your hands 3-4 times a day up to your wrists and a swim or two a day would rack that up quickly. Technically every time your arm comes out of the water during a pool workout and back into the water it is being submerged again......
I said "all but" as in not likely BUT still possible. Also you need to check your math. My post was made Tuesday which was the 40 day since release. In order to hit over 500 times it would require almost 13 times a day, every day, 7 days a week. That is almost one distinct water exposure per hour worn. Not impossible but NOT to likely. But anyway you get the point.:D

[semantics]Also if you want to count every time the :apple:Watch came in and out of any water as a separate exposure then I need to up my count from 500 to possibly in the 10,000 range.[/semantics]:D

far from mathematically impossible for the s2 to have been wet more than 500 times already. Examples:

Servers who constantly wash there hands and dip their hands in water to get a wet rag

doctors whom constantly wash their hands

nurses, see above

dishwashers (washing a lot of dishes to get the s2 but still)

aquarium employees

pet store workers

hair stylists or barbers

You forgot pool service people! Mine is in and out the water all day long. Plus I swim a mile 4 days a week. Mines always wet and still working well.

Doctors and nurses aren't allowed to wear stuff on their wrists for hygiene reasons (at least here in Denmark). My wife is a doctor and not allowed to wear watches, rings or anything like that because of the risk of bacteria infections etc.

Back on topic: I reported it on the Apple support site Thursday and they said they would recommend a service check and a new one is on it's way now from The Netherlands.

To follow up on my thread - It was an error - as mentioned I registered Wednesday afternoon last week, got a express box (small nice box for the watch) and it was returned to Apple in The Netherlands. Friday 5.30pm I got a mail that they had received my watch and would look into it and 9.10pm they sent me another mail that a new watch was on it's way back - Monday morning I received a brand new watch i a mini-version of the nice box my Stainless Steel model came in, with a small letter that they had checked my watch and was sorry for the inconvenience and had supplied a new one...

My god service like that feels good - on a day like this I'm happy to pay for a great product like this - if it fails they will do a great job helping out.

that rule definitely isn't in place here unless they are like a surgeon or something. Almost every time I go to the doctors in fact, the nurse uses the watch on her rest to check my pulse (or my kids pulse if we are going for him). I mean they have the machine and usually use that to but then will double check with fingers and their watch. Anyway, nice catch on the doctor wife! I got me a cyber security wifey, gotta love sugar mommas :p

EDIT: sorry, to the OP, I think it is awesome you got everything squared away! Apple does still have customer service that is amazing! May just be the last leg they have to stand on after the mac announcements and all the stuff they are taking out that they are known for (in my book at least, not financially lol)...

My plan is definitely to play a hell of a lot of golf when she surpass me (hopefully sooner than later) in income ;)

Yeah I'm actually a medically retired Marine of 10 years and working on my MBA right now so the VA pays me rather well in housing allowance and retirement so not like I'm slumming around all day lol. I am actually about to hopefully get into the medical cannabis business here in the next few months and with it just starting in my current state it should be a rather good income. I want to make medicine to help vets (and others) have an alternative to opiates which we all now are pushed to vets coming home or with injuries. Anyway, different topic for a different thread.

I think it is really awesome he customer service the OP got. Apple really knows how to make up for a mishap with the individual consumers.

Is anyone experiencing distorted sound after cleaning Apple Watch Series 3 with running water? I tried more than 10 water expulsions but I’m still getting distorted sound. Waiting half a day usually fixes it, though

This is pretty typical especially if you're not taking care to ensure not having a direct flow of water to the speaker side of the watch. I suppose its taking a half day to dry. When I rinse my watch (after a sweaty workout or a salty swim) I try to put my thumb over the speaker hole to mitigate unintentionally shooting water into the speaker.

Hope this helps

Blow into the speaker at the same time the speaker expels the water. It’ll blow most of it out. I shower with mine probably a few times a week and this has worked well.

My death aw2 nike got exactly same issue with the host mentioned. It speaker muffed at first after swimming. Then on a nice day, I found out its mic is fault. I'm pool swimming 4 days a week.
Now, I m on aw3 LTE, still swimming regularly. hand-on experience is blowing into its speaker and mic slots hardly after swimming. dont trust the "droplet" function. I hit it dozen of times after swimming. Then I blowing the slots. Water come out like a shower rain.
