The Apple Watch. I went from the Withings Activité Pop to the Apple Watch Sport. I loved the battery life on the Withings watch (seven to eight months using a standard watch battery); but I enjoy so much more about the Apple Watch. The silent alarm on the Apple Watch works well for me. The vibration with the Apple Watch is significantly stronger than the one in the Withings watch, in my opinion.
Don't you have to plan your day around charging your Apple Watch in that case? Charging at night is simple (and I like the nightstand mode too). I don't see a way I could do it reliably during the day.

Nope. The Apple Watch goes on the charger either when I’m getting ready in the morning or when I shower before I go to bed. Last night, it charged from 55% to 97% within 30 minutes before I went to bed. With Theater Mode and Do Not Disturb on, I find that the battery only drops two to four percent overnight.

Maybe my use case is abnormal but the I went from an S0 to an S3 and I’m pretty confident I could go at least 2 days on a charge. If you want to wear it at night, pop it on a charger at work for a little while.

Unless you’re using it constantly during the day this should be doable.

Apple Watch is inelegant looking -- and I wear one. But this Nokia watch is a dime a dozen already, offers nothing new, and the market isn't that big. Maybe they'll sell thousands of these.

I have to disagree. Obviously this is a to each their own situation, but given the current Apple Watch design and when I pair my stainless Watch with my stainless steel link band, I think it is elegant looking. Yes, I know it's a smart watch and not a high-end mechanical Swiss watch, nor am I comparing it to that. But for the smart watch category, it's the best looking Watch on the market.

What's unique about the Apple Watch is that it can be dressed down with a simple sports band or you can dress it up with a hermes leather band. And you can easily match the band Based off your attire, which could be formal or casual.

If this (or a similar watch) worked well, I'd be all over it. Some of us want to wear a watch, not some ugly digital lozenge that has to be charged every night.

I had one. It went cloudy (water ingress) and Nokia refunded me (after first denying I’d returned it originally).
The battery life went from 25 days to about 8 in a matter of months (maybe something to do with the water issue). I see they have fixed the issue (hopefully) with this updated watch.
Had an original Apple watch also. Charging every day was way too annoying.
Mi band 2 all the way now.

Yes, exactly. People have different tastes. Purely subjective. Some people love those Ralph Lauren Polo shirts with the ginmorous Polo logo. Me, I don't even care for the regular size logo. I'd rather have my shirts of top notch pima cotton and logo-free. So yeah, each to their own. I find AW looks like a pregnant Tic Tac, not a beautiful, timeless design.

What didn’t you like about it ?

I did like it actually but I recall charging it was very finicky; it was hard to get the charging cable piece aligned with the back of the watch to start the charge.

I originally wanted a 'best of both worlds' where the watch looked like an ordinary watch while having basic smart functions. However I realized if I'm going to buy a smartwatch I'll get an Apple Watch and buy a separate regular watch when I don't want to wear my smartwatch. Ultimately the hybrid approach didn't work for me...

More hardware to go with the app they ruined and never fixed.
this. Nokia absolutely ruined the ecosystem with their terrible app changes. WiThings was all around a great alternative for folks who wanted some basic activity tracking but dont want to go all the way into smart watch territory. Nokia pretty much set out on a "me-too" plan to mimic the Apple experience and ended up with a useless pile that neither achieves their objective of mimicking Apple, nor does it meet the existing functionality that was present in the WiThings-branded application.
I was somewhat happy to see Nokia making a name for themselves again, but, seeing how badly they have ruined WiThings told me they have learned absolutely nothing during their lean times.

Stay away. There's better alternatives now.

Why bother? It's very telling that Nokia took so long to get this product out, and it's still a pre-order. Apple Watch is the best. For people who don't need all of the functions of Apple Watch (yet), there's still Fitbit. Nokia is old tech. They're the past. The sold out to Microsoft, and now they are a shadow of their former self.

I think there is a market for people who like to have a watch that looks like a watch. I personally feel that the Apple Watch is too "intrusive" just like other Android smart watches. I just don't want a smartphone or a computer on my wrist. But this enhanced watch strikes the right balance.

I wish Apple would make a smaller watch with less features, less UI, and longer battery life. Keep the fitness sensors, Apple Pay, and Siri.

I give it 6 months before they go bust!

It was dead if it was released earlier. Before xmas with the Apple Watch juggernaut, will ensure it will be super dead!
Nokia dead in 6 months?

The Nokia responsible to taking over Withings! Yes! They may still make phones but their health side is dead!

Unfortunately, Nokia is not the brand it was and doesn't have the marketing or money to throw behind products. And, there is the Apple Watch and Fitbit now. For this reason, their health dept will die!
