1. I hope that with the XR2 they can make it a little thinner. Even 1-2mm would make a massive difference and of course even shaving 1mm off the bezel thickness would be amazing.

2. I hope that they make an iPhone ‘XR2SE’ ie an XR roughly the size between the current 4.7 models and the 4 inch screen SE.

3. An ‘iPhone classic’ ie a cheap as possible iPhone ‘7’ with an A12, no 3D Touch for those that can’t or won’t pay the higher prices of the higher end iPhones, who don’t care about the formerly flagship features of wireless charging or 3D Touch
(And who this shouldn’t be punished with higher AppleCare parts replacement costs). Given the new iPad Air, I think that this product is entirely possible.

I guess only Apple knows if there’s a significant market for 2. I expect there will be for the 3.

If you think size is subjective, then I’ll say that your claim of how “advanced” and “how much technology they pack” is also subjective.

For example, my iPhone 6S perform pretty much the same as my XR in 90% of the things I cared about but it did so as a lighter, thinner, and easier to hold package.

So to me, the XR really isn’t that much more “advanced” than the 4 year old phone.

And besides, newer technology should make phones lighter and thinner, not the other way around.

Yes, I’m disappointed with the XR and I wish Apple made the XR smaller and thinner.

This is a very fair statement.

I know the XS isn't much lighter but it does has a bit more of a sleeker feel than the XR because of the smaller factor and impressive display.

But the XR is much more affordable

I think the main reason it's thicker is to support that wonderful battery life
