I still vote for the phone I had just before switching to the iPhone, the HTC xv6700! That thing was a friggin brick, but damn was it a good phone. I could have played hockey with it being the puck, and it would have still survived.

Functionwise, the N95.

Stylewise, the Porsche P'9521, see here

Er, its like 2 inches thick and only looks good from that one angle.

And the LG viewty (called something else in the US) is a wierd piece of kit- my friend bought one as a cheaper option than the iPhon and we were comparing them.

It is almost unusable as a phone or for texting. THe touch input is worse than my first ever sony p900 toch screen where you had to stab at it 3 or 4 times. Such poor implementation of the functions.

And the internet, although HSDPA takes an age to load as the processor and ram are piddly.

It is a classic 'headline' phone- you know: 5 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA, HSDPA, TOUCH SCREEN, AVI MOVIES
small print : doesn't actually work

Blackberry Curve or Palm OS Treos. I still dont get the rave of the N95 i've played with both editions and i just found Symbian to be slow and somewhat boring, phones are bulky and battery lives are so so. The Blackberry interface whilst pretty fast is too linear and boring.

Palm OS comes a little close to the iPhone in its simplicity and responsiveness. Also there are LOTS of Apps written for the platform. Yes its OS is long in the tooth but it works just fine

I know how this is going to sound...please don't hate me, but anything with buttons at this point is dismissed in my world.
