This is my first iPhone, due to being stuck with the Verizon ball & chain for years due to work. I've played around with friends' 3G's and they really did feel like crap in comparison, but this is similar for most phones that are a few yrs old. I can still see why the earlier iPhones were "The Bee's Knees" at the time they were released. …just like our iPhone 4's won't be that impressive in 2012, but right now it's my favorite device, by FAR.

And the irony here is you can still make a case that the iPhone 3G is one of the better phones out there. Slower processor than many of the Androids, but still has silky smooth UI and a more responsive touchscreen. And the 3G was from 2008!

You can argue the iPhone 3GS is still arguably the second best device behind the 4 in the cell phone market.

I actually wouldn't mind getting a 3GS for dirt cheap and for a back-up. Many of my videos from my P&S camera maxes out to the resolution of VGA. Many of my videos are converted to a lower resolution. No time to convert them all to HD. I wouldn't be able to convert them to the current iP4 resolution anyway because originally it is recorded lower. The 3GS will go down as the last of its kind for videos I converted to non-HD.

A year from now it's going to be fun watching folks post about how the iPhone 4 is so old compared to the new iPhone 5 (or whatever it's called).

How the new iPhone doesn't have dropped calls or antenna issues. Plus there is no yellowing of the display. And why anyone would still want to keep their iPhone 4 and not upgrade. That there's simply no comparison. The iPhone 4 is so yesterday.

:D
