Air France today announced that passengers can now watch select Apple TV shows for free during its long-haul flights, with more than 45 hours of content available. This is referring to the streaming service known as Apple TV+ until last year.

The complimentary in-flight selection includes the first three episodes of Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, Severance, Prehistoric Planet, The Snoopy Show, and more. The shows are accessible on each passenger's individual screen, in French and English.

Air France has also started offering one week of free access to Apple TV content via its new high-speed Wi-Fi portal, for streaming on your own devices. The airline will roll out this new Wi-Fi portal across its entire fleet by the end of the year.

American Airlines, United, and Air Canada are among the other airlines that offer free Apple TV streaming.

Air France's announcement was earlier reported by the French blog Consomac.

I flew on American Airlines on two separate trips recently. One trip to London for New Year's and another trip to Los Angeles last week for a cruise to Mexico.

I was pleased to see that they had Apple TV shows on the plane. I finally got to watch The Studio!

I haven't taken any big trips in many years so I'm happy that airlines are now offering a selection of digital on-demand entertainment.

Ooo just in time for my Air France flight...then again I haven't really found anything on Apple TV that interests me but options are nice.

For some reason this picture reminded me of the time when our Apple TV froze on an Apple TV logo (for the Apple TV app). My wife asked what I was watching, I just said, “Apple TV”…..har har har 😛.

What I would love is an option to temporarily pair my own AirPods with the seatback screen and use them for the in-flight entertainment. Right now it’s basically either the airline’s mediocre headphones or bringing your own wired set with a headphone jack which I don't really care to do.

If Apple worked with airlines on a simple, secure “one-flight pairing” feature (pair, watch, automatically disconnect at the end of the flight), it would make watching content so much more comfortable and convenient. It would also save airlines money long-term too, by reducing the need to supply headphones.

United lets you pair your own AirPods to the plane. It is quite nice. The only thing thats hard is, the actual pairing process.

Yes, this is a nice touch. Will be flying United again next month and the refreshed cabins with this option are great.

One of my favorite Airlines, great food, service, and comfortable.
Really? Every flight I've had with them has been subpar. Late departures, missed connections, old equipment, bad food, etc. On the same level as American Airlines, or maybe even worse.

I hate traveling. Stressed out passengers, stressed out staff, dirty planes and hotels. One of the most overmarketed activities to keep people spending their hard earned money for nothing. Try a staycation, much more relaxing. Real life travel NEVER looks or feels like in the pictures.
