How does it find two boys but no bodies or human remains...?
Aren't the only finding things that are floating? If they haven't found any bodies or remains, then my guess is that they're still inside of the sunken pieces of the aircraft.

If the plane hit the water at over 450 mph at a steep angle, everyone would be dead away--the force of the impact would have over 100 G's, more than enough to kill anyone. :(

To the bizarre now.

Brazilian air force says debris was not from Air France crash :

The Brazilian air force said Thursday night that debris picked up near where officials believe Air France Flight 447 crashed Monday into the Atlantic Ocean was not from the plane.
The news came after the Brazilian navy began retrieving debris Thursday that it believed was wreckage from the flight, which disappeared over the Atlantic Ocean.

On Wednesday, searchers recovered two debris fields and had identified the wreckage, including an airplane seat and an orange float as coming from Flight 447. Officials now say that none of the debris recovered is from the missing plane.

This has to be one of the most bizarre turns ever. Random airline seat floating in the ocean near where a plane presumably went down...not. Picking up sections of an airplane measuring 23 feet long nearby...wrong again, not from the plane. Such a crazy story this is getting to be.

This is quite weird.. why wouldn't that be from AF447?

Well, seems like the area is crash prone with a lot of turbulence and such. Not that much of a surprise IMHO.
The Paris court of Justice just opened a case for involuntary homicide....AF's going to have to pay massive amounts of money....

It's crash prone, but how many planes have actually gone down there? It just seems odd that random airplane wreckage would be found.

assuming that it was another plane wreckage.
all initial news were very contradictory and until clear evidence is presented and documented, anything is possible. apparently there are 4 separate 'debris' fields, so maybe one is correct and the other not.
it could well be that the 'parts' were just crap dropped by some passing ship.
how precise can be the identification of a seat from a passing plane?

If the debris isn't from the AF flight, of course that begs the question where did it come from? It is rather coincidental to have this debris show up in a search area for a missing airliner.

i think people underestimate how much garbage is dumped in the oceans.

take any area large as the one they were looking at, and something here and there will come up if they search hard enough.

what they found, so far, that has been confirmed is
a couple of buoys, some wooden structure/pallet, rests of a damaged boat and some lifesaver device.

Not doubting you or anything but the only info I have found is from CNN and they say Brazil found a seat from a plane. Do you have a link to the other stuff ?

Yes they do. Very sadly the oceans have become a trash heap. We just dump everything into them with no regard. It has become an environmental catastophe.

The debris they have found could be from anywhere as others have stated. Also at this early stage everything is very confused. Until they have more time we probably wont know much.

One thing that needs answering though, is why are black boxes made which only emit a signal for 30 days. You would think that isn't sufficient and I am sure the technology exists to extend that time period.

Battery life vs. transmission power and size.

Naturally it is a compromise but you would think they would have enabled a longer period.

I read on CNN that a new type of black box is in development that ejects itself from an aircraft in the event of a crash and uploads its data to a satellite.

You make it seem simple, like there is a switch they can flip to run for 60 or 90 days, but choose 30.

Think about this, the box must enable the transmitter, and transmit at full power for 30 days, 24 hours a day and still be small enough to fit all the recording equipment and the 30-day battery.

Yeah I am a scientist so I am aware of the engineering challenges and that there is no 'switch' :p

Still I doubt it is impossible, just that there hasn't been the impetus to increase the length of time.
