Yeah, I’m sure they are aware of the divisive reaction this film has received. It’s possible they’ll take that into consideration......Johnson may want to take creative choices, but Disney wants the most mainstream, popular reception as possible.

I do wish Johnson would’ve kept the Luke scene at the end. There was a montage of different stories from around the galaxy recounting how Luke took on the First Order, making him a legend (inspiring the “hope” & a new set of allies for the resistance.) The montage ended with the scene of the kids telling their version.

I think this would’ve given the character a more “heroic” send off. Alot of complaints were about how Luke didn’t do anything....I feel like these scenes would’ve shown how Luke became an even bigger hero in the Star Wars universe.

Completely agree. I hate mostly 4 things about this movie. This ridiculous Mary Poppins like scene of Leia flying through space, the completely unnecessary Harry Potter like chase on Canto Bight, how Luke was portrayed from beginning to the end. Luke should have died like a hero, committed from the very first second. Not as a bitter man as shown. But what drives me nuts more than anything else, Abrams truly created a cool and brilliant villain with a incredible look everybody enjoyed and supported in the franchise. Mostly a worthy successor to Vader. And what does Johnson do in the very first scene? Letting Kylo Ren destroy his mask and though his signature style. I mean, Adam Driver surely is some brilliant actor. But nearly every child, and myself, would have loved to see more of Kylo‘s cool attitude from Episode 7, but which is completely gone when only showing Driver‘s babyface...

Given that the article says the computer was used only for script writing and nothing else, I also do not see any strict software need that could only be met using an insecure hardware like that. But of course, there may be a lot of details missing that were not mentioned in the interview.
I know the article frames Johnson's remarks from a security perspective, but I suspect his "airgap" protocol was mainly to write in a distraction free environment.

Your lack of patience is your fault. You could wait a little and see did other people liked the movie before buying a ticket. I still haven't watched it because I am waiting for iTunes release.
Problem is getting all your friends to do that too. Star Wars isn't a movie to watch alone.

A lot of people like going into a movie blind without letting other’s opinions influence their own.
Same. Reading reviews beforehand ruins it.

Relax, why does this make you so mad?
I don’t care what races are represented in a movie as long as it feels natural.
Some of the decisions made do not seem natural but forced and that is the problem.

I don’t care about race or gender or whatever one bit but I don’t need in-your-face-PC with a “strong women” telling an “irrational and aggressive men” what to do without having to explain her motives to anyone.

Also, this PC stuff isn’t even the biggest problem, I would have enjoyed a good movie with or without it but the story itself is just weak in my opinion.
Sorry but this doesn’t make sense. You clearly are afraid of strong women.... thanks for clarifying btw.... as you brought it up originally. You could have glossed over it in your mind and never have posted that precise criticism. I hate to break it to you but SW has pretty much been irrational aggressive men being problematic since day 1, and 4. This time they addressed it head on - and it was as another user mentioned - sound reasoning.

I never understood the reasoning behind researching as much as possible a film before hand. Then again I see folk talking about prerelease spoilers on media they intend to consume and it surely must ruin it? I go into movies blind and the only misfire I made was that deep horizon movie. I was hoping for a 90’s style action disaster flick and didn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped.... same for San Andreas and the Independence Day 2 flick. The only 3 films in modern memory I actively disliked. Trailers are too spolierific too I just turn up to the movies late lol

I’m glad I didn’t see people moaning about this before hand as I would have focussed more on trying to prove them wrong than enjoying the movie as I did.

So the tech wizardry of “air gapping” is just not connecting to a network? Amazing. Lol. Maybe we could call watching a physical BluRay movie “hyperlocal streaming”.

... "after laser-mediation from a pseudoholographic substrate"...

Haha, exactly! None of these stories about this would exist if all the writers weren't itching to say "air-gapped", which makes them feel like real "hackers"!

Hopefully he also glued the USB and Thunderbolt ports shut (ref: Evil Maid attacks).
Moreover this isolation explains a lot: like the terrible plot with massive QE2 sized plot-holes and Deus Ex machina contraptions.

I thought it was great. Better than ROTJ and all the prequels. That's just my opinion though.

I'm a Star Wars fan but not a rabid fan (I like most of the special edition changes of the original trilogy even though I grew up watching Star Wars on VHS for years before the special editions came out).

It was great! You're right. Cry babies who don't like it are basically upset that there is now a Star Wars movie that actually makes you think.

I love The Last Jedi, but every Star Wars movie has stuff in it to make one think, if you allow it.

"What's in there?"
-"Only what you take with you"
