I've got a half-eaten Big Mac on the dash of my pickup that hasn't moved for months.
I suspect the surface will rubberized so things won't just slide around.
Not to mention it probably looks just as fresh as it did back in the day you bought it! 😁

are their any known negative sides-effects to being exposed to directly to wireless charging boards like this over time? I assume in this case when the middle dock area is not being used to charge you can put other items there and/or use it as a hand rest while driving or for the passenger, and so question, is there always a current of electricity going through that persons arm? And if so what kind of current and what kind of things will it do with long term exposure to someone’s health/circulation/skin?

My 2020 Toyota includes CarPlay and wireless phone charger, but I still have to plug in a cable to use CarPlay

Bookmark this thread—I'm sure all the doubters will be thrilled when this finally makes it to our cars in 7-10 years.

AirPower reportedly had an infamous overheating problem, so put this kind of devices into a car makes total sense. /s

Haha these comments are gold. Just want to add yet one more opinion that this is a bad idea.

What about the small bumps in the road, when your phone bounces up off the charging mat and loses the charge? Does that take one of the “cycles” away from the overall lifespan of the battery? Similar to if you unplug your phone and plug it back in? I always let my battery drain below 10% and then let it get all the way up to 100% again before disturbing it. And of course taking it off the charger as soon as possible after that 100% to lengthen the lifespan of the battery. Never understood having the phone charged in the car in the first place as it will likely only get 5-10% at most while you’re on your way somewhere.

Aira envisions a vehicle with a large wireless charging surface spanning the center console, on which Qi-enabled devices could be placed to charge, with total freedom of movement.
Maybe Aira doesn’t understand that that cars corner, stop, and accelerate.

Solves the huge problem of putting the phone in a specific place in order to be charged, peak innovation is here

Good luck Aira ... "floating" phones pose a potential hazard ... and I don't know a lot of cars the has that much space available in the center console, oh, I forgot, the Apple car coming in 2025 will accommodate this :rolleyes: - see you then

That is why they don't want you on the phone while taking off, or using your notebooks. They can become a lethal weapon, accelerated by the plane crashing, etc...
