so 179 for AirPods 3 or 199 for AirPods pro? Kinda silly to not get the airpod pros. (they are currently on sale almost everywhere)

Their ear bud offerings are getting more complicated. With their Beats division, now they have a whole bunch of competing and contradictory offerings. The Studio Pros for $150, and the Air Pod 3's for $180. No one can accuse Apple of not having enough variety to cover the market for ear buds and headphones.
And the HomePod Mini is now in three more colors. *sigh*
I might order a set of these new Air Pods, just to get the water/sweat resistance, but with no ANC, hmm...

Check out Apple.com - they have a table showing the differences between the models.
Some of us abhor silicone ear tips.
Also - those $199 airpod pro's likely don't have the new magsafe compatible charging case which the $249 verson from Apple.com is now shipping with apparently.

Summary: No ANC or transparency mode for 3rd Gen. But 3rd Gen have better battery life. And of course, no silicone tips for 3rd Gen. Both have wireless charging.

Kinda makes sense - if the $129 had wireless case they'd cannibalize the gen3.

i'd rather they kept the wireless case for, let's say $160. i can't stand the "squeeze" technology that gen 3 takes from the pro model and would love the option to keep buying gen 2 without sacrificing the wireless charging aspect...Yep, 2nd gen with just the wired case.

What is the point of a post like this? Are you expecting to get some kind of meaningful discussion out of an order confirmation? Or are we supposed to provide congratulations that you navigated the order process?
Frankly I'm kinda surprised they kept the 2nd gen around, though I suppose they needed something at a lower price level.

Interesting... I didn't catch that. But I thought that steve jobs said that they didn't care about such things as canibalizing their own sales. Having the wireless charging case for the gen2 just makes sense. I'm not sure how keeping the case would cannibalize gen3 sales, but whatever...

And hopefully they fit better than the pros. I keep losing them out of my ears when riding on my stationary bike! They just get bored I guess and head for those sweat puddles, and then I really don't want to stick them back in again. YUCK!!! 😛😀😎
