Yeah, of course Apple is going to leave out the features like the ear tips, active noise cancelling, and transparency mode for these next non-Pro ones... Why do I feel like this design that's just like the current Pros but without the ear tips isn't going to work for many. Heck, with the original/gen 2 design, only the right bud would properly fit without having to constantly adjust it.

The Pro's don't fit in my ears very well. If I smile, they either fall right out, or feel like they are hanging on by a thread. Someone did say I smile too much. #Grouch...

If the airpods had ANC, they would be perfect, but how can that happen if they don't fit snugly in the ear hole. It can't!

Tangent: I had a 'passive Noise Reduction' headphone set. They were basically a pair of small wine corks that you jammed into your ear holes as hard and as far as you could, and they worked perfectly. Until I smiled, or moved my face too much. Then the corks popped out, and the 'noise cancellation' failed, miserably. As I remember they were pretty expensive for whoever bought them. (I was given them on a trip by a befuddled owner who apparently wanted to share the befuddlement) How to keep them in the ear holes. Someone said they carried alcohol wipes to swab their ear holes, and things like those worked. Seems like a lot of drama to fix a poorly designed product? (Or poorly designed ear holes?)

I just hope they don't have silicone tips. no earphone in the world with silicone tips will ever stay in my ears and the standard airpod design is so so much better for me. I desperately need new airpods (the microphone is broken) so I will just buy the last gen if apple go down the silicone tip route with the 3's

I was kind of in the same boat, I think. Have you tried the Beats Studio Buds? The AirPod Pros don't fit well in my ears, but the Studio Buds actually do. I used to lose my APP riding my bike on a trainer, they would just pop out, but the BSB stay in quite a lot better, and if they shift, they don't hit the eject button allowing me to adjust them to keep them in place, and the noise cancelling actually works surprisingly well, for the price. Like I didn't know my trainer had a squeak until I had to take one out to listen to the wife (telling me I ride too much:rolleyes:).

I find the BSB's to be head and shoulders above the APP's. Not that I'd give up the APP's, but...

One thing that I found, that might help you/others: I found if I rotated the APP buds until the stalks pointed nearly straight forward, they stayed in far better, and the noise cancellation worked better. They looked weird, as I was informed, but they actually felt more secure and all...

So much for getting these at todays announcement. Seems like it would have been fitting to have included with iPhone 13 and Watch 7 announcements instead of MAYBE announcing when they do Macs in the near future.
