Its awesome news that the form being close to the perfect AirPods 2. And that mic test 😮

Not sure why you would get these over the pro 2. If you can't afford the $20 difference you shouldn't be spending that much on headphones.

I’m actually considering these to replace my AirPods Pro 2, because I don’t like the feeling of stuffing something in my ear.

Hidden buttons are bad interface design.
Seriously! Like the tap on the back of the iPhone feature. I had actually forgotten about that until I read your comment! It’s never been mentioned again past the initial announcement. I think Apple forgot about it too 😆

I think these early reviews have not said if they are more or less likely to suit those who prefer the fit of the 2s over the 3s. However, they fell straight out of MKBHDs ears, which does not auger well.
I don't know if the 4s not fitting him = these aren't a fit for others... I suppose it's hard for any reviewer to quantify "better fit" as everyones ears are different. Will monitor reviews/posts over the coming weeks and if I'm near an Apple store I'll try them out. Fingers crossed!

Did not like MKBHD's review at all (which rarely happens), like sure he's one of a percentage of people who don't fit Airpods but at that point why review it yourself and not have one of his numerous staff members do the testing. Yes ANC is going to be bad if the airpods don't fit you at all and have a bad seal. But that's not very interesting for the people watching the review whose ears are fitting for the airpods since those are the people who're interested in them.
MKBHD is getting too big for his boots.

The silicone tips, FindMy case and estimated 1 hour of extra battery life are not worth $70 to most people who can look beyond having "Pro" on the product name. If you compare the 2 on Apple's website, it's pretty clear those are the only major differences. I spent $250 on the first Pros and will not buy them again as they did not meet that price expectation and I cannot run in them with the silicone tips constantly pushing them out of my ears.
I prefer the Pros for the ability to isolate when needed and for the better ANC. The new AP4 ANC may be sufficient for many though.

If you have trouble with the APPs falling out, you might try the Comply foam inserts instead of the silicone ones. They are less slick.

I'm hopeful too. The AP2s are the only ones that ever fitted me really well. The 3s and APPs are just about OK but fall out sometimes. So I hope these are just that bit "better" for my ears. If they are a better fit I'll probably go with them despite the fact the ANC is not likely to be that great.

I don't have a problem with silicone tips, but I have a problem with buzzing in the ear and the sound of each step - the first after some time - especially at higher volume and I blame the pressure for this, the second immediately, when the APP are deep in the ears. I didn't hear this problem when I listen in open BayerDynamics, so I'll give AP4ANC a chance. I hesitated for a long time whether to take APP2, but we'll see, maybe the open design is what I need.

Why would you automatically assume someone is choosing AirPods 4 over AirPods Pro 2 because they can't afford a $20 price difference (that isn't even $20).

You use a case on the case? Or am I misunderstanding something?
Yes, there are cases you can put your AirPod case in. I have a slim one that has a keyring attached which allows me to hook it inside my backpack.

Would have preferred to have a normal button. Hopefully it will not cause any accidental presses.
