I'm not sold that these will be a game changer. I think the cost is too high, the battery life to short, not having them stay in your ear and it will be easy for you to lose them

After 6 months since your comment, and 6 days since I've owned my AirPods, I can say (for me, at least) that they ARE a game changer. At $10 more than the Beats X, which also utilizes the Apple W1 chip, I disagree that the price is too high. And I am not a man of means. With iOS 10.3 sporting a 'Find my AirPods" feature, the odds of truly "losing" one or both become less likely. As for battery life, I have yet to listen long enough to run the batteries down, and once they are put back in the case they charge back up. I am on day 3 without charging the case, and I have listened probably a total of 9-10 hours. The AirPods are fully charged and the case is at 74%. At this rate, recharging should only be necessary 3-4 times a month. BTW I generally listen as loud as they will go, and that is the only improvement I can ask for - as music without "brick walled" mastering can sometimes be a little quieter than I'd like, but I'm still very happy with my purchase.

Honestly I just want earphones that sound good and are easy to use. Elegance in appearance is very much a secondary thing for me, for music is not about bling.

There have been some who actually think they look goofy. I don't see how they look any different than the traditional EarPods other than the obvious; a thin cord that goes from them to your pocket. As for me, I love the convenience of wireless listening on earpieces that already "felt" familiar.

How do they sound? I still haven't been able to listen to these in person....

I wasn't expecting much and I must say, I am totally surprised! I guess because as someone else said, they fit directly into the ear canal so the sound is right there. I am one of those with one weird ear that earbuds just don't fit my ear canal correctly and I lose all the base, so these sounded just awesome to me. I love the freedom of lack of wires and the super fast connection is AWESOME! The only thing that is a problem is that I can't find where to tap to initiate Siri, but I don't need to since I just use my device. All in all they are keepers and I am totally loving them.

Thanks! :) I'm considering them as my wired ear-buds are beginning to fall apart.

The sound is very good. A cut above the standard EarPods in the fidelity department, but only by a bit. I am very happy with the sound.

btw - if you go to any Apple Retail Store they can let you demo them, even when they're not in stock.

Not an audiophile, but sound great to me. Improved bass.

I walk with them and like using my voice to raise/lower volume.
