I think ill use those ropes they use to hold a pair of glasses around your neck. that would work to hold them together
It would but then what about the mic?

True, I hadn’t realized that. My transit tunnels don’t have wifi so that means you’ll have to use another device to do just about everything with these and that greatly reduces their functionality.
If Siri is going to be need to even get basic function on accessories its about time that Apple has in phone Siri commands for those basic commands.
I thought what a great design...then I imagined biking down a long hill at 40mph and one popping out onto the road. Maybe the cheaper beats will be a better choice for exercising.
If you just want to check the fit, try the lightning EarBuds that come with your new iPhone 7, or the original EarBuds. If you have problems with the fit, don't even bother ordering the AirBuds. If you're truly even considering them, most stores offer at least two weeks to try before returning. I get it though. $160 isn't exactly nothing.
I get ya. Guess it's ok in a situation where you cannot harm others. In traffic it's a different story, of course.Works fine on a mountain trail. Helps for climbing.
Scotch tape.As far as how well they'll actually stay in there if you, say, go for a jog, it's hard to say, though the buds could certainly benefit for some sort of anchoring system
So you're saying that Apple has not refined the design with this latest release?![]()
Let's wait and see. Perhaps they have other gestures besides the double tap for Siri. The Bragi Dash, for example, uses its accelerometers to recognize if the person nods or shakes their head to accept or reject incoming calls. No playback controls/gestures on the AirPods themselves makes this a non-starter for me.
Why do you play music why doing these activities? Take your treadmill example, first I like to concentrate on the activity. Thinking about my routine, how I am doing, etc. Some call it maximizing your workout, less distractions. You are correct on the fire alarm, or a major event you will mostly hear the event. However, your reaction time in many cases will be slower, delay in hearing the mountain lion is not good. Example, a major problem with driving, distracted by texting etc causes slow response times. For me, maximizing my workout, is why I am there in the first place. Same with the other activities. Just my opinion and curious as to why others need music, which you did not answer.lol you're afraid of not hearing the fire alarm when you're on a Treadmill? Or someone screaming at you while you're on the bike path on the beach? Or maybe you're afraid you won't hear a mountain line scream at you while on a hike? I just want to make it clear what safety issue you're talking about.
Agreed, at a minimum with the iPhone 7 plus, as a potential driver for the higher end device. Although as I type..., since they dumped the jack port, yes, these should have been the default headset with any iphone 7 to encourage adoption and more specifically to stand behind their courage claim... Maybe next year is where we will see the end of including wired headset since Apple believe's so strongly in a Wireless/Mobile world...Those wireless airpods should of came with the iPhone instead of people buying them separate. Not Cool Apple!!!!!!
Guess you'll have to use the free included 3.5mm adapter then. Sorry to say.It seems clear to me that most iPhone users really don't give a damn about sound quality. Bluetooth is merely adequate tech for headphones- if you don't mind lag or short range. And I guess I have to be ok with that- Apple hath spoken, I guess. For people in my field who use their iPhones as mobile studios, that jack was useful. Loads of peripherals use 3.5mm, and the ones that use Lightning, well, you could monitor sound using wired phones and a jack. Now? Well, back to the drawing board. Or buy new peripherals when they come out- because the budgets we have are infinitely flexible. Use a laptop? Sure, because that's as portable as a phone, yesiree.
I know, whine more, right? Because Apple has a Vision. But that doesn't help with my work right *now*.
They not only included a set of Lightning headphones in the box with the 7, they gave the adapter for normal headphones. Expecting them to give you the wireless headphones in addition is beyond belief - what other provider boxes wireless headphones with their phone? Those wireless airpods should of came with the iPhone instead of people buying them separate. Not Cool Apple!!!!!!
Yes, Apple is using a higher quality BT connection (similar to AptX) but it's not HD or even CD quality, just better than standard BT.What I'd like to know is if they'll be capable of better sound quality than standard BT headphones, perhaps due to the chip, or other modifications to the wireless connection?
Since Lightening is a data port I wonder if an lightening hub and a dongle might solve your problem? The whole point of using the port is for usages like yours - could it be a simple as just putting the monitoring that used to be through the 3.5mm in its own data channel in the Lightening port?It seems clear to me that most iPhone users really don't give a damn about sound quality. Yep, that can run either my phones- or the peripheral. So how to do both?Guess you'll have to use the free included 3.5mm adapter then. Sorry to say.
Can you elaborate on the use-case you're describing?Yep, that can run either my phones- or the peripheral. So how to do both?

Yeah they don't work for me unfortunately. If you just want to check the fit, try the lightning EarBuds that come with your new iPhone 7, or the original EarBuds. If you have problems with the fit, don't even bother ordering the AirBuds.
The returned product is ever going to be sold as new. Neither is the underwear for that matter. Do whatever you feel is best. I take full advantage of return policies if I don't like what I just bought.Trying and returning Ear Buds is a dubious business. I would never want to buy something that might have been in someone else ears. Its no different than buying and returning underwear just not done.
Guess this is one of the cases where people need more than one Lightning port - or a way to pass-through information with a special adapter. Not sure how that's going to work out in the future.Yep, that can run either my phones- or the peripheral. So how to do both?
