i accidentally left my AirPods in the car last night. Actually 2 nights. It got between 15-20 degrees. Will that mess them up?

have you tried them....? i don't know the specs on temp range for them but that is cold no matter what.

Should be fine. I work outside and keep my case in my toolkit. Routinely down to 0. They charge slower and sometimes not at all in the cold, but I haven’t noticed any lasting effect.

You may lose some charge faster but other than that, no reason it should harm them. I wouldn't make it a daily habit of having them go from room temp to near-zero 365 times per year as it'll probably affect long term battery health, but here and there should be totally fine.

If was a one time occurrence, you should have no issues. The biggest thing when lithium batteries become cold, is they can deplete rather quicker. Always allow them to warm up to room temperature before you use them.

Here is some additional information on Apples lithium batteries:

https://www.apple.com/batteries/maximizing-performance/

"Your device is designed to perform well in a wide range of ambient temperatures, with 62° to 72° F (16° to 22° C) as the ideal comfort zone. It’s especially important to avoid exposing your device to ambient temperatures higher than 95° F (35° C), which can permanently damage battery capacity. That is, your battery won’t power your device as long on a given charge. Charging the device in high ambient temperatures can damage it further. Software may limit charging above 80% when the recommended battery temperatures are exceeded. Even storing a battery in a hot environment can damage it irreversibly. When using your device in a very cold environment, you may notice a decrease in battery life, but this condition is temporary. Once the battery’s temperature returns to its normal operating range, its performance will return to normal as well."

It doesn't get that cold here but, as others have said. best to avoid temperature extremes for any electronic device.

"Hey, Siri, thaw my Airpods."...

"I can't do that right now. But if there's a Galaxy Note 7 in the vicinity, you're in luck."

Exactly. And the worst that can happen in very cold weather is that they loose an extra 5-8% charge temporarily.

Depending on how cold they can lose enough power to shut the phone down, even when the battery was fully charged. Left cold soaked on below zero weather and the battery will provide very little power.

Now those are extremes. Hopefully OP didn't dunk their battery in freezing water.
