What’s the point?
It’s like snazzy labs said in his video, if you want AirPods that just happened to be in an over ear form factor, there is really only one option.
If you’re looking for pure sound quality, look literally anywhere else because there is a lot better for a lot cheaper.
Well I like a lot about the AirPods Max but I don't find them very comfortable. I found the Momentum 4 very comfortable but the ANC wasn't good enough. So I'll see how the Momentum 5 fare on that front and probably decide between these and the APM.

I agree with most of the posters here, still too expensive for a pair of headphones that sits in the middle of the high quality pack. Yes, they sound good, but Apple want us to pay for a host of features that have nothing to do with the most essential features of high quality headphones and wearability. Head tracking, nice but ultimately pointless, easy pairing, they should be at this price. Lossless wireless, nope. Wired connection without a dongle, nope. Noise reduction fine but that is not the primary reason for buying a pair of headphones at this price. I want the highest quality audio experience I can get and the AirPods Max do not get there. I am paying for convenience features which products at 50% of the cost provide.

The Airpods Max 1.6 (what the APM 2 actually is) should MSRP at about $349

I'm blown away at how overpriced these continue to be.
And how a none replaceable mesh can be part of a premium headphone. It’s not priced in the range of a B&O H100 but that thing has a exchangeable headrest and other things.

I don’t use my APM anymore because it feels and IS dirty. Not up to apple standards imo.

Headphones are slavery tbh, especially for that price. Music is not properly reproduced that way when you have speakers directly to your ears, you don’t hear room reflections, natural bass response and other imperfections which make music pleasant. For personal audio and communication? Sure. For concert-grade experience? Laughable. A pair of KRKs costs as much, or you can buy like 3 JBL speakers for that price and enjoy music like never before. Downsides? Well if you live with someone who hates your music taste - you are unfortunate one (*insert Creedence Clearwater Revival song here*)

You made my day 🤣

For $1K you buy cans which mop the floor with APM2.

Please do your homework in head-fi.org

While I agree Apple’s headphones are not professional whatsoever, most stuff that people recommend on head-fi, reddit and similar forums is indeed an overpriced and overcomplicated trash.

Some classic takes of those circle**** communities:
“oh your iPhone fails to drive DT 990? You should consider this overpriced smartphone amplifier. Less dongles? Don’t be a fool”

“Nothing beats FiiO”

“Have you tried using equalizer?”

“C’mon all headphones tear down over time, just deal with it and buy a new pair”

Never again. These have a condensation problem that they refuse to acknowledge. Worked great for two years, stopped. Got them replaced on AppleCare, worked great for two years, stopped.

Now they wanna charge $300 to fix. **** that.
My gen 1 stopped working. Just like yours. I still have them.

I recently got the gen 2 and I hope they don't do the same thing. But if they do, I have them on AppleCare to be safe.

Realistically, they should be priced around $399. Hopefully they make the next ones lighter with something like titanium instead of stainless steel and they have a better case.
