I see them all over the place here in Los Angeles. People literally just walking down the street wearing them everywhere.

I'm probably just not paying attention, then. I was in Echo Park and Hollywood for a week about a month ago and didn't see them.

I see absolute ton of in-ear AirPods, though.

I loved using them for on average 3h a day until they suddenly stopped waking up a few days ago after 28 months of usage, so just outside warranty- not a happy camper. Hard reset doesn’t work, gutted

The microphones on these are below terrible. Colleagues using them from their quiet home office get complains that people can hardly understand and we tell them to switch to the laptop's built-in mic. And we're talking Lenovo low end business laptops here so it sounds like a phone in the 60s with loud typing and fan noise but it's better overall.

I bought the Beats Studio Pro for $170 at Costco with Apple Care+. Sold my AirPods Max and have no regret. Airpods Max has really good transparency mode, ANC and sound quality. It was over designed in my opinion, it was too heavy to leave the house, I would just use my AirPods Pro 2. People who bash on the Beats Studio Pro haven't tried them, sound quality has gotten a lot better with Beats since being acquired by Apple. Not having the Apple H1 chip you really only missing the automatic switching between Apple devices (which I turned off personally) and the Find My only show the last place the Beats Studio Pro was connected and not always tracking like AirTags. Switching device is still very quick and seamless with Apple devices as it's connected with your iCloud account. The case, lightning charging, not being able to turn it off, how heavy and unable to use high resolution lossless music even with the flimsy Apple lighting 3.5mm to lighning cable that cost $35 was the reason I sold it because at the end of the day if I want to listen to the best sound quality, it would be through some open back wired headphones like Senneheiser HD6XX or HiFiMAN Sundara. That being said I see many young adults wearing AirPods Max at the gym I go to so I am pretty sure they are selling really well. Never would imagine anyone would spend that much and use them at the gym with no IPS rating, but they are definitely selling. Hoping for an key improvements on the next generations.

I see them worn a fair amount around the east of England and they are very common in pictures of footballers. I bought mine early after they came out and loved them for a while. This was still lockdown era and our house was busier than usual, so they were a great way to just zone out from everyone.

My usage has declined since as I'm working in an office rather than at home now, however since the clocks went back and it started to become dark when I left work at 5.30pm, I'm happy to wear them for my 30-40 minute walk home. Being a man in his 50s I would feel rather too self conscious about wearing them (or any over the ear headphones) in public during daylight hours, but it's fine in the dark.

And I'm really enjoying them again listening to great-sounding music with next to no traffic sound permeating in. I do find I struggle a little more with the weight of the things now, but it's manageable. Not being a huge headphones person then I cannot speak for brand A having better sound quality or brand B better noise cancellation, just that I have been broadly happy with mine in the 3 years I have had them. I'll be honest and admit that it would take some compelling new features to cause me to upgrade mine anytime soon.

I ended up having to get mine repaired twice - because of the condensation issue killing connectivity. Second time was within a couple of months of the first repair.

I've switched to some PX8s, which is a shame as I really did enjoy the Max's when they worked, and the ANC/Pass Through was outstanding, better even than the PX8s (Although the sound quality on the PX8s is definitely better, remarkably so when cabled in with USB-C).

They definitely need to sort the condensation issue out, the ability to turn them off properly (That case is just beyond silly), and better options for improved quality if used wired with a USB connection would be nice as I expect they'd sound infinitely better when not using Bluetooth.

One of the best purchases I've ever made. I ordered them immediately after they came out. They got me through living in a tiny apartment during the pandemic, with a baby, doing remote work. They've accompanied me for travel, commuting, watching my Apple TV late at night, work calls, you name it. All the while, the build quality and all functionality has held up beautifully.

My only big wish is that they'd sell the headbands separately and offer replacement as a service. I brought mine in for battery service earlier this year and they replaced the headband for free just as a perk I guess. I hadn't noticed, but that mesh starts to sag after a while.

But, other than that, just flawless. If they put out an updated version next year I'll buy them immediately. Hoping for updates to keep the features on par with the also-excellent AirPods Pro.

I had AirPod Max - broken within 20 months.

After that I chose Sony MX-1000-M5 thanks to their much superior voice isolation and background voice reduction. My counterpart on the call can hear me so much clearer and more natural than on Apple.
I am actually surprised how much better Sony MX-1000-M5 is than AirPod Max in this regard.
Looks like Apple dropped a ball here.

I had 2 Beats in-ear pairs - both broken within 12-18 months.
And I still consider AirPods Pro as in ears. Am I crazy for still wanting headphones from Apple?
Not really just get Apple Care, it will protect you for two years. Sucks you cant renew it like on the iPhone or iPad or Mac computers.

The AirPod Max are the product I thought I would love especially for its price but its been meh for me. I would never pay full price for them but hopefully they make upgrades that make it worth its price in its future version, assuming they will even make an AirPod Max 2.

I have these. Their price point is high for no good reason, even with discounts. The only reason I got them is because I came into a little bit of money, saved most of it, and wanted to make a couple stupid purchases.

I have the same complaints as most. The case sucks, they are heavy. The design is a hard MEH. The headband does not sag on mine, but will someday. The battery goes dead way too quickly when not in use. I have had multiple Bose headphones (currently QC45) and the inactive battery life is great. I can leave them untouched for weeks and the battery does not move.

If Apple makes them lighter, adds USB-C, rethinks the headband and maybe a few other design elements (how about folding?), and has a price in the $3-400 range, they will sell and I will be a customer.

I saw three people wearing AirPod Max at the gym this morning alone. They look ridiculous, by the way. You must live in the boonies and travel to rural areas with few people. I'm not saying that as a put down. I just don't know how else you could've only seen one pair being worn in public in three years.
I live in Orange County, CA. I’m “out-and-about” all the time. I also go into LA county to work M-F. I’ve NEVER seen one pair in person.

People are fairly fashion-conscious around here. I see AirPods all over the place. They’re smaller, cleaner looking.

Considering your track record with Soul Society and your questionable intentions toward Kurosaki Ichigo, I don’t know how trustworthy your review can be.
