Way of misrepresenting. It's 2-3% according to this article in 2 hours. This adds up, as there are numerous times a regular user would have them in between sessions.I call BS - you would never have bought these. I don't believe an extra 2% power draw over 10 hours is a dealbreaker for someone considering a 600 dollar headset. You're just trolling.
Typical anti-apple-hivemind. whines and screams like they are being dragged to jail over non-issues!
The case is useless and should never have been released, but you can't tell me the fact that you have to put your headset into a charger every 4 days instead of every 4 and a quarter days is an issue? OMG
Put a power button on it and it won't drain at all. What a stupid design.
My best guess is they'll introduce new colours, kinda like Apple Watch straps. A stretch will be a new case (but Apple can be stubborn when they want to be).I hope they do the firmware update for that! That be great.Still would of liked the U1 chip in there. You really think it will be 3-5 years for a revision? They don’t need to change the entire design...
Not many of Apples products...Well most of those major products do include power buttons.
Yep, and having used Beats wireless studios I almost always forget to 'turn them off' and instead just set them down, which ends up draining most of the battery overnight. Figuring out a good low power mode situation is much better than a power button that you'll forget to use anyway if you only had one option.Do I want to have to press a power button every time I want to turn them on and off, OR do I want to have to charge more often? I think I'd rather have an instant on device that I have to plug in every few uses. But I'll find out IRL whenever my headphones finally ship....
That's a very stupid design. I have a Logitech headset with USB, I don't wear it that often. Another reason not to have this headset. It would be dead, the way I use it.Put a power button on it and it won't drain at all. What a stupid design.
That would be a good option to add. That way, it doesn't kill the battery. The problem with rechargeable batteries, they all have the same characteristics, if you don't run them down and recharge it back up, (cycling), they go bad. All batteries do this.Just a firmware update away...
My point was that an additional button isn’t needed. But keep in mind the headphones operate exactly as Apple intends, after months/years of beta testing. That would be a good option to add. That way, it doesn't kill the battery.

And I realize that, if you use the headsets a lot, that's OK. For me, a headset with USB is better. I don't use them a lot.My point was that an additional button isn’t needed. But keep in mind the headphones operate exactly as Apple intends, after months/years of beta testing.
It’s really quite simple: Apple decided that the small penalty in battery life to keep the headphones in regular sleep for two hours before going into deep sleep is “worth it”.
If it’s a deal breaker for any particular buyer, they should definitely not buy them 🤷♂️ Apple’s fine with that, they’re quite aware they’ll never please 100% of potential buyers, and they don’t try.
Hmm, I just thought of another possible reason for having no power button, such that the headphones remain findable for hours after you set them down: if someone were to “help” them get lost - pick them up off your desk, chair, pile of stuff at the airport, or whatever, and wander off with them, with the intention of keeping them for themselves... if there was an easy way to take them offline (by separate button, or long press, or whatever), the first thing said person would do is power them down.My point was that an additional button isn’t needed. But keep in mind the headphones operate exactly as Apple intends, after months/years of beta testing.
