Excited for them to come in this Thursday.
Geeting a set on Tuesday would have been fine but getting them at all, especially within a month is pretty cool to me.

Hoping whoever wants a pair gets them, and that whoever doesn't want a pair moves on and gets what they actually want.

Haha good comparison, here in Mexico they go for 14K MXN (about 700 usd), about 1 month rent for a small apartment in one of the nicest neighborhoods of Mexico City, or, about a years worth of Corona beer for a party soul (one 325 ml Corona = $0.70c, so, 1 thousand beers, about 20 beers/week every week for a year).

Consider yourselves lucky then, I can purchase 5 of these for one month of rent for my Denver 1 bed.

first impressions thread!
Thank you sir 👍🏻

Stupidest looking headphones ever. They look like metal maxi pads for your ears. Just sayin'.
I know your user name is “Nicole”, but... have you ever seen a maxi pad? That doesn’t look like any maxi pad I’ve ever seen, just like the AirPods don’t look like tampons. I’ve no idea how that shape would even be effective. Or comfortable.

“They look like ciabatta buns”? That, I’d get.

People around here have an unhealthy fixation with feminine hygiene products...

This thread turned into “What I can get for $550-$700 where I live.”
I guess that’s showing that most people feel these are out of reach price wise. People that can’t afford them will still buy. I think they could’ve included a proper case, especially considering the price.

Remember the similar comments when the iPad was launched? I wonder why that never became a popular meme?

Do they make any units available for same day pickup at midnight here in the US? Or is my only chance of getting one to go really early to the Apple Store and hope there aren’t too many people already there?

Still no reviews? It's kinda strange people are receiving the devices before anyone has posted an in-depth review of these...

Totally disagree. These are not out of price reach. Have you looked at the competition? And when I say competition, I mean Bose, Sennheiser, those are above the $500 mark or higher. Apple products are generally priced higher than the competition for the most part, but I don’t think these are generally over priced to the point where it’s not comparable to the competition. Apple has these priced where I think they should be according to the technology. However, we’ll know more here shortly of the overall impressions when customers start receiving them.

For m the most disappointing aspect is the case.
I expect there will be some substantial hard shell third-party cases along for these shortly. I’m a little surprised that Apple doesn’t offer a first-party model of such - they’re usually more on the ball about spendy accessories.

Not at midnight usually on something like this. I have found in the past that there will be store pickup available starting around 6am Eastern time. I think it really depends on the store and stock as it is not just a nationwide dump into the store to allow sales. When the HomePods were released, my local store did not show any stock until almost 6:45am Eastern but then they popped up as available. They were gone by 6:55am.

Also, the store currently shows me "Apple Store pickup is currently unavailable". I think that will change back to giving you the ability to check stock later this morning. It was already available yesterday even though there was no stock showing in the U.S. obviously.

Nothing available in UK stores for pick up at 8am UK time
Admit it is a little strange. Thought they would be available like we've seen with phones and recent MacBook launches. Was in two minds to flip my white ones and pick up some black ones.

Those white ones may get quite grubby after a while and i don't think that nth mesh could be cleaned. So its 9am now and still no availability in the UK stores. Perhaps an update at 10am

Yes I am a little concerned about them getting dirty. Earcups can be replaced but for £75!! (First product on store to cost more in £ than $ simply from a number perspective?)

I just don't get the headband thing, looks so disjointed from the cups.. Apple rushed this too much I think.. half baked product.

It's December 15 in Australia and New Zealand, which is AirPods Max launch day. The first AirPods Max orders have begun arriving to customers in the two countries, as Apple fans in Australia and New Zealand are always the first to get their hands on new devices.

Those in New Zealand and Australia who were able to place an order for launch day delivery before the AirPods Max sold out are receiving their orders, and have been sharing photos on Twitter and other social networks.

There are no Apple Stores in New Zealand, but Apple Stores in Australia have appear to have a limited amount of AirPods Max stock available for in-store pickup. Based on a spot check, most locations in Australia appear to have the less popular silver and space gray models available in store.

It's possible that stores also had the other colors and have now sold out, but as with orders placed for shipping, the pink, blue, and green colors appear to be highly limited if they're available at all.

Store availability in Australia means that Apple will also have stock available in retail locations in the United States on December 15 for those who were not able to place a preorder that arrives in a reasonable amount of time. Orders placed today for all colors of the AirPods Max will not ship for 12 to 14 weeks, which means the AirPods Max are backordered until March.

Following New Zealand and Australia, AirPods Max sales will begin in the Middle East, Europe, and then North America. ‌‌

These will no doubt sound decent enough, but the price is ridiculous, even by Tim Cook's greedy standards. There are a number of great options that cost a lot less and include full electronic noise cancelling and other features missing from these. I think these will die on their feet once the initial Apple enthusiast rush is over unless the price is slashed.
