Electronic equipment needs a reset. In other news - water is wet.
I really don’t get all the hate, it’s not like it‘s a defective product, just a malfunction that is easy to fix.
I’ll decide if I love or hat the APM once they arrive tomorrow. :D
The hate is only because it's about Apple. Suddenly no other manufacturer that makes expensive headphones has a single problem whether major or minor.
How does a minor glitch reflect on Apple’s lack of QC? Have you even had pair of ANC headphones?
Both my my Bose QC and Sony XM models have had some sort of malfunction at one point in time. The Bose have had the ANC screwed up with firmware updates twice. Think twice before you start typing troll posts like this.
It doesn't reflect Apple's lack of QC. People here hating are simply upset that Apple is putting out a new product that THEY KNOW will be ridiculously successful and they think their hate post are going to do "damage control" thinking they can sway people not to buy them which is just plain pathetic and childish. It's so sad that individuals here that are powerless go through such lengths to trash a major corporation that is way too big to fail and they can't stand it.

exactly! My Bose are full of bugs!!

$550 headphones. problems already.
Leave Audio to the Pro's. Like Sony, Denon, Pioneer , sennheiser.

The Apple car will be just as bad.

Concentrate on your core business. otherwise LEMONS when you spread yourself thin.
I remember when Apple was criticised for daring to produce a phone as well. Also, do you remember how the Swiss watch industry was going to kill the watch sector? Michael Dell once famously suggested that Apple should not even bother continuing with making computers, and that Steve Jobs should close the company and return shareholders’ investment. But no doubt your valuable business advice should be taken seriously.

I know people on the forum would be frustrated that people are piling on Apple for this - but I'd say this is one is justified. This is an exorbitant amount of money to spend on headphones, then have to look up articles on how to fix it. That isn't a premium experience that should come with a premium price.
If you are writing as a consumer and you don’t like the price, don’t buy. If you’re offering business advice, what’s your track record that Apple should respond to your opinion or that other consumers should pay any attention to you?

No only this product. Look at HomePods issue. Until now still haven't been fixed!

Yes but no one has tested this before release?

If every single unit has the problem then your theory is correct. If only some are affected, it’s not. I bet it’s just a smaller amount and it sailed under the radar.

Lol “crappy sounding” my eyes rolled out of my skull
Poor choice of word on my part, audio is all personal preference in the end. Im all about neutral sound and have always preferred open cans and IEMs when I want to block out the sound. They are definitely priced better than the Apple ones.

Audio had been Apple's core business for at least two decades. It's just that the focus has shifted from the playback device to the listening apparatus in the recent years. Seeing as how Apple has put significant efforts there and garnered significant success in the wireless earphone market, I'm sure the bugs can be ironed out without "spreading oneself thin".
You're right if making devices with speakers on them is considered as 'audio'. That's pretty much where it also stops with Apple. Their devices aren't bad, but they're far from great if you consider true audio. Fortunately for them, that's all most people need. If they have to reboot their headphones a few times a day, that's just normal for headphones that cost >$500.

To make things more funny for you guys I'll tell you how much Airpods Max cost here: 629e. ($772). I might consider them at half that price. Not any more than that. And yes, I've listened to them. Pretty nice for bluetooth phones, and only if you use them with other Apple products. Outside of that, meh. And again, that is considering the price. At 300e-ish it'd be a no-brainer if I didn't have a few decent pairs already.

If this was the only problem with the airpods max then it might be tolerable. The bigger problem if you ask me is the development of condensation in the ear cups. Bought 3 pair and returned them all. Apparently the aluminum cups were not the best idea. In our situation condensation developed with normal around the house use. This was not related to exercising or exposure to moisture. Just the body’s heat vs. aluminum. Bummer!

Apparently the aluminum cups were not the best idea. In our situation condensation developed with normal around the house use. This was not related to exercising or exposure to moisture. Just the body’s heat vs. aluminum. Apples only solution at the time (10 days ago) was to periodically remove the cushion and dry the ear cups. Really? Bummer!

Thanks very much for the tip. It just happened to my AirPods Max suddenly today where Transparency mode is only enabled for the left cup instead of the right one. After rebooting the AirPods Max, both transparency mode and noise cancelling is much improved now.
