Do you have a lot of experience with jizz dripping or gushing out of your ears?

I’ll just leave it at ‘ wouldn’t you like to know ‘ because I don’t wanna be banned again for ripping someone a new one :)

I'm just curious how many of these are actually selling. Yes, I know people who have them love them. Yes, I know they're "sold out". I take piblic transit to work every day in Boston and I just don't run across very many people with these things at all. I think, in the wild, I've seen a dozen since they came out.

Anecdotal, I know. But it still has me wondering. What are numbers like. Tens of thousands? Hundreds? Millions?

As far as trying them out I wasn't as blown away as some folks seem to be in this thread. Not enough to drop an extra $100+ over some wired buds.

The biggest selling factor for me was the convenience of no wires at all, esp at the gym with free weights!

It must be a Boston thing, I feel the same way. Don’t see people wearing them anywhere.

Getting suspended for defending yourself is the best thing ever, I've been suspended multiple times. Usually because the mod disagreed with me, and it's been the same mod a few times. ;) I think someone owes me a medal. I expect this comment will be removed for A.) not being relevant to discussion and B.) referring to mods (they hate that).
[doublepost=1501969468][/doublepost]Say, does anyone use a case with their AirPods? Looking at getting some soon and I think I'd want something to protect the case.

It was also stated after he died that he had left a roadmap of at least the next 5 years. So who is anyone to say, maybe he had a hand in the creation of the AirPods etc. Nobody knows but Apple.
Oh I bet he had a hand in the concept, just not the final design.

I didn't say anything about revenue or financial success. I own the stock and it's done quite well this year. They are a machine. Apple could put their name on a Yugo and it would sell like crazy.

If the Yugo sells, then it's also because Apple has thought through its design and reinvented the Yugo, using their control over hardware and software to address the major pain points in the product. Not just because of the Apple logo.

after playing with these since i picked them up yesterday, i really think this is the death knell for my ipod classic, as much as i hate the ios music app.

Guys, are they really that good to still be this constrained?
I just don't see them as this big a deal.... hmmm

They are good. I sold my first pair here. Missed them and got another.

That said I think they are hard to get because they are the new Apple item more so than being great.

If all I wanted were sound quality. I'd 100% have kept my beats wireless

I had ordered mine about three weeks ago, with the six week waiting list. I happened to look on the Apple Store app and there was stock in Glasgow Buchanan Street so I hopped on a train and collected them an hour later and cancelled my other order!

I'm five days into owning them and apart from one scary "have I lost them" moment, they genuinely are the best Apple product I have had in years. I swear by my iPhone SE, MacBook Air and now my AirPods, and when a second generation come out, I'll be getting them and giving this pair to my girlfriend. They've barely been out my ears since I got them because they are so convenient to use and keep in for hours on end.

10 out of 10. If you own an iPhone and a Mac, and find the EarPods a comfortable fit (they were a great fit for me and I swore by them) then get AirPods. You won't regret it.

I don't own these yet. As a mild sound snob I used to think it's a lot to pay for wireless on top of a cheap ear bud (it is). Then I considered my own use case. I use both my car and transit to commute. Used as a single bud these can replace a dedicated Bluetooth phone headset for the car. Two buds for calls at home. On transit I'm really growing tired of wires. When travelling the case provides enough power for an intercontinental trip. The wired buds are the perfect combination of snug and comfortable in my ears. Yup, I think they've nailed it.

Don't worry, some people have way too much money and time on their hands.

A $159 purchase is hardly constrained to those with "way too much money." What does time have to do with anything? Because you'd have to wait six weeks? That's like saying buying a new couch for my living room means I have too much time on my hands because it won't be delivered for six weeks.

Airpods are a great device, connection, ease of use inter alia.

But the sound quality compared with my Sennheiser pcx-550s and momentum wireless in ears is rubbish, as bad as most earbud sets. I don't know how people can listen to music on them.

Ok for podcasts, though.

Short answer is yes.

They are very convenient, just pop them in your ear and they connect automatically, you can switch between all your apple devices, the case keeps them charged up so you don't have to worry about constantly charging them, it pauses the music or movie when you pop one out (to talk to someone or something) then automatically resumes when you put it back in.

Are they going to blow your mind with sound quality? Probably not, but the quality is decent, and the convenience just makes them a must have for me.

People have different use cases. When I'm outside, and on the go, I do NOT want sound cancelling - that's very dangerous. I need to be able to hear the outside world intermingled with my music, so sound quality is NOT the premium concern.

When I get back to my desk at work, then, yes, sound cancelling and premium music playback is important, and wireless is very low on the list.

One thing I wanna know before I eventually buy AirPods, how is the isolation? For example, I am not able to hear movie/tv shows dialog in public transportation on my regular EarPods. Anyone? Thanks.

Early reviews did say they were louder IIRC.
From my usage it hasn't been anywhere near the problem I thought it might be.
I was using a pair of HK in ear type headphones and compared to the airpods there doesn't seem to be much difference in terms of how often I can't hear dialogue. In saying that, it's impossible for airpods to be as good as in ear headphones that seal well in this regard. I'd imagine my old HKs are just that... old.

I've never used the regular earpods on the subway/train to watch movies/tv shows though, so I can't compare the airpods to the earpods.

You will absolutely love them for your use case. For me, no wires on transit has been a revelation. It's only the sound quality. Just don't compare them to audiophile earphones and you'll be right.
