LOL, first paragraph in the article says supply continues to outstrip demand.

Yes. They are great!
Yea whenever I take them out to put them in my ears I feel a little happiness and that kind of oldschool "I have an iPod" cool vibe when you could spot a fellow apple friend by their white earbuds- now you spot them by their lack of white cables, while all the android users have switched their headphones to cheap white cable ones haha

I tried them in the Apple Store several times and I so wanted to like them and get them. I can't get over how bad they look. They sound exactly the same as the included wired earbuds which isn't bad, but average, disappointing. So if they don't sound better than average, from what I am reading from the "best product Apple ever created and they changed my life" folks, it's pretty much all about the lack of a wire and the freedom of it? You can't use these at the gym or for a run correct? What happens when someone comes up and you want to take them out temporally? I just pop my beats x out and they hang and magnetically connect. Do you carry the case around or just hold them in your hands while having a conversation? I love being able to hang my beats around my neck and it actually looks good too. I'll take great sound, a well engineered wire around the back of my head, outstanding battery life and a pretty cool look for the same money (and the same chip/technology).

i don't think he's saying that :)

Of course Tim Cook did not say that.

The statement is backwards and is only something that Joe Rossignol would write.

Ummm. I'm not an english expert, but shouldn't it read: "...Tim Cook has routinely said DEMAND continues to significantly outpace SUPPLY." The way it's written doesn't make sense and seems like there's no demand for the airpods.

Other way around Macrumors.

I am obviously in the minority, but the sound is "OK" but I can't get over how silly they look. They look like straws hanging out of your ear, or earrings or gauges. Definitely look better on women than men. They have to make a different color than white soon so they don't look so friggin prevalent.

I opted for the Beats x, same chip, lightning cable charging and they sound great, can be used for exercise, battery life is outstanding, 5 minutes charges an hour.

Well spotted!, unless Tim Cook got it wrong, but I doubt that.

Thanks all. Put those in the wrong order. Fixed that mistake.

I’m curious what you mean by “only” me.

I agree. They look to be the most uncomfortable, and easily lost device of their type. The choice of white is also questionable cause they look silly in the ear.
They are the most comfortable I have ever worn. They are so light that I can leave them in my ears all day and not feel any sort of discomfort at all.

I admit I felt a little self-conscious wearing them at first in my workplace, but after a few enquiries and some curious glances, it's become the new normal.

Didn't enjoy mine. Great sound when snug, be it until the slightest perspiration occurs. Pain to enjoy long-term.

Love them. Wear them all day and forget I have them in. I disagree with everything LarryJoe33 said. They stay in when I work out, sound and fit better than the wired ones. Taking one out and it pauses what you are listening to.

When some comments on how they look, I just say so having wires hanging from your ears going to your pocket looks weird to me. Shuts them up every time.

I think hanging something around your neck seems odd to me.

They are extremely secure in my ear. Before the AirPods launched, Tim Cook did an interview where he stated that the AirPods are very secure in his ear, where the weight of the wires sometimes makes other earbuds fall out. I think he was right, because the AirPods have never fallen out of my ears when I wear them, where as my other wired Earbuds would Fall out due to the wires at times.

One thing I wanna know before I eventually buy AirPods, how is the isolation? For example, I am not able to hear movie/tv shows dialog in public transportation on my regular EarPods. Anyone? Thanks.

AirPods are fantastic. The size, the charging case, W1 chip, battery life, sound etc all make it such a great product.
Although they are great now I do wonder about the longevity of the product. How long is it going to be before those tiny batteries start failing to hold a full charge? or the charging case for that matter. It's not like you can take them to Apple to fit a new battery inside them.

Oh and I find it strange that you listed sound quality last in your list of what makes them great. Are you really sitting there thinking "oh man I dig this W1 chip" more than "yes these sound great"?

I thought they were way over priced and silly till I tried them! I love’em so much, I got an extra pair for the gym!

Today, the BB near my home had 20 Airpods in stock! Even the blue shirts were amazed at this ‘random’ shipment.

Maybe the "shortage" is vapor to create demand?

Not nearly like a true bud with a soft rubber fitting to match your ear size. These fit just like the ones that wired ones come in the box.

Welp I guess we'll have to wait and see about the battery. Too bad there's no AppleCare available to purchase for them.

My list is not in order of best to worst. I simply rattled off everything that I like about the AirPods. So it's not strange at all.

Well if Beat X works for you then great. Same chip so same awesome battery life, maybe even better. Personally I can't tolerate wire, even just a little wire, so AirPods is ideal to me. I run with it, using it in a gym almost every day no problem.
AirPods can also be used by either one or both so it gives you freedom to choose. Sometimes I just pop one in when I want to listen to something quick and it's so easy to put in and take out. It's friction free.

True innovation by Apple even though I returned mine. Sadly depends on the fit and for me they moved around too much causing a lack of bass and too much outside noise.

Really love the idea, just wish Apple offered ways to fit different ears.

Practically non-existent. Assume it's the same as your EarPods.

Exactly, the concept and idea is great, the design is poor from an acoustic perspective and aesthetic perspective. EarPods 2.0 I hope will be better.

Guys, are they really that good to still be this constrained?
I just don't see them as this big a deal.... hmmm

Have them since December last year. Would never ever go back to wired ones.

Don't worry, some people have way too much time on their hands.

You seem to be one of them.

Why would they all the sudden be uncomfortable without wires? What kind of comfort does a wire hanging down your chin, dangling on the chest would give you? Which brings me to your last point..... I think that's what looks silly. A person with wires across the chest. around the neck, contented to a pair of earbuds. At least it does look silly to me now. And I think it will to you as well on the very near future. Like it would if you see a person using any of these old carphones.

AirPods can be ordered on Apple's website for $159 in the United States. They're also frequently in stock at resellers such as AT&T and Verizon with delivery to most U.S. addresses in as little as 2-5 days.

Article Link: AirPods Now Ship in 4 Weeks, Finally Down From 6 Weeks Estimate Since December

That's the key. Unless you just have to have them from Apple directly, there is no 4 - 6 week waiting period. It is pretty clear that Apple is working with its retail partners to get them some product as well. As a matter of fact, you can get TWO sets of Airpods, free two day shipping, AND a $50 Visa gift card from the Verizon wireless store right now. I got a set for my wife and I and they did arrive in two days. I've submitted the information for the rebate, although I've always had good luck with rebate fullfillment, it is a waiting game for that, we'll see.

I can't wait to get a pair of these. Yeah, they look a little goofy, but I am only going to wear them when I am running or working out, so it doesn't bother me in the least...

They fit better and sound better. Do you even own them?
