I just realized that Live Translation should also allow you to watch TV programs, movies, YouTube videos, etc. in languages other than your own, and have them translated.
About 4 or so years ago, my airpods pro 1 started working really well on Teams on Windows 10.Hopefully just for listening. There's universal hate for those that use AirPods or car bluetooth in Teams calls. Horrible mic quality and increases the meeting time since they're constantly being asked to repeat.
For the Windows issues in the past my experience was improved by using a newer external dongle that supports the latest bt profiles and audio codecs.
I wouldn't describe AirPod mics to be phenomenal for conference apps. They don't even place 1st in professional testing and comparisons to the competition. On a phone calls in a semi quiet environment they are fine but not for Teams, Zoom, Webex etc. There's many discussions out there to actually not use voice isolation and only rely on the built in suppression of the app as they both conflict.Just to be clear, AirPods sound phenomenal on voice calls if you enable Voice Isolation from the menu at the top of Control Center during a call. Unfortunately, it’s out of the way for most people to find and only accessible during calls. But once selected, Voice Isolation remains enabled and does dramatically change the game.
Mine did that too, live laugh love pronunciation of "Live". Made me chuckle even though it wasn't working.I am getting this also, weirdly the audio prompt I am getting is saying to "To use live translations with AirPods...." live as in the movie title "Live and Let Die"
I have downloaded both UK and US English, and another language. If I go into the translation app, on the live tab and press Set Up Live Translation, nothing happens when I press the tick in the upper right
<edit> I think it has suddenly started working, the Set Up Live Translation button has disappeared and Start Translation now shows with the 2 languages, maybe it was indexing something

That’s another Apple fail.
1. I had to reboot my phone like Windows 3.1 just to get the Live tab to show up in the Translation app.
2. It can’t pronounce Live properly in the context of ‘Live Translation’.
3. It keeps telling me to download languages and complete set up when I did it already.
4. Squeeze both AirPods at the same time to get a Live Translation. That looks so ridiculous and it means I need a third hand to hold my phone. If I tourist tries this two handed nonsense while juggling their phone they are definitely going to have their phone robbed in a city like NY, Rome, London, Paris. It’s such a clear signal to a thief.
Software is amazing these days. Amazingly stupid.
I had downloaded all but English Us and had the error about needing to download the languages. That’s another Apple fail.

Seems it defaults to translating to English US, so doesn't work until that's downloaded.
Once downloaded, changed my "To" language to English UK, and deleted English US, and it works still.
It can be started with Siri, or from the Translation app. You don't need to touch the airpods to start it (other than putting them in your ears).
Mine ended up updating on their own but I think plugging them into the Mac might've had something to do with it.My AirPods Pro 2 are stuck with version 8A343A I dont know how to get out of the Beta Program for AirPods Pro 2
any idea?
The issue here, in Windows 10 & 11, is that after connecting the AP2 (and probably AP3 also) to your laptop is that Teams and other programs default to using the ‘Headset’ Bluetooth profile for microphone and speakers. You can see this in Teams device setting. This codec is ancient and really mangled the sound. Will the firmware updates not make my audio sound like trash when connecting to my Windows computer for work Teams meetings? Never an issue with connecting to my iPhone/iPad/MacBook/Apple Watch. Just always lousy when connected to a Windows machine (prob intentional).
I always get complaints from people with voice isolation on. They say the beginning of everything is cut off.Just to be clear, AirPods sound phenomenal on voice calls if you enable Voice Isolation from the menu at the top of Control Center during a call. 😮 I never knew you could check that on the watch!I see nearly 6db improvement in ANC on my AirPods Pro 2, without any iOS update yet. This is outstanding.
Pre-ordered AirPods Pro 3, I'm even more excited now.
I was worried the Pro 2 would be unable to keep up with the ANC of the Pro 3, but now it looks like they will be closer indeed. In a room of 56db, my watch tells me my AirPods Pro 2 are only letting 26db through. This is far better than before, where it was 30/32db in the same environment.
This is interesting. Just to clarify, you are saying the Pro 2 improvement has happened after this latest firmware update?I see nearly 6db improvement in ANC on my AirPods Pro 2, without any iOS update yet. This is outstanding.
