I have no idea tbh. They do have a different, a different texture. I’m using the L tips. They’re very comfy.Wait, are they differently shaped than the 1st generation? Or are you just using the XS tips?

Third party eartips have been around as long as earbuds have been, I used to buy better (more comfortable) foam ones for my wired sennheisers over a decade ago. That's what I use. But this should not be necessary.
I can imagine a future AirPods Pro that includes a separate box the size of a MacBook Pro that contains ALLL the possible required combination of tips… and it still wouldn’t fit someone’s earstl;dr this isnt new, this isnt just apple, and no matter how many eartips they include there are always going to be some people they don't fit or some people who want a different material to be more comfortable. And because they're so common they're also pretty cheap to get.
I'm having flashbacks to the original iSight and the like 4 or 5 different mounting options that were included in the box.I can imagine a future AirPods Pro that includes a separate box the size of a MacBook Pro that contains ALLL the possible required combination of tips… and it still wouldn’t fit someone’s ears![]()
You check your case battery on your phone without your AirPods in it? Like, right now, you can take your AirPods Pro out, let your case sit there closed for a minute, then open the case and see the case’s battery represented in the “Battery” widget on your phone? If that’s the way it used to work for you, then, yes, the AirPods Pro 1 case has changed from that.I check my case battery by opening it real quick, whether the AirPods are in it or out of it doesn't matter, and it's always worked just fine. Like 30 seconds after closing the lid, the case battery would disappear again until next time it is opened. Has that behavior changed?

There have also been third party ear cushions for over-ear headphones available for decades, but they were often more used by audiophiles than I think third party eartips are used on earbuds. Those have become more common too, I have a rather cheap replacement pair of cushions on my Sony XM4s that keep the speakers from touching my ears and make them less warm if I wear them for a long time.

Exactly! This was a nice surprise when I got mine earlier. Never leave the house with a low charge again. Why didn't they advertise this during the Apple Event?
Yes, the battery indicator as a whole is a joke... can't even display the charge of your other Apple devices, let alone any 3rd party accessories or electric cars...It would be great if the native battery widget could also monitor the charge status of iPads and MacBooks.
Does your car show the charge of your devices?Yes, the battery indicator as a whole is a joke... can't even display the charge of your other Apple devices, let alone any 3rd party accessories or electric cars...
No, it couldn’t have shown the battery percentage without the AirPods Pro inside because the AirPods Pro case doesn’t have any transmission circuitry.Nice!
correct me if im wrong but iStat menu for macOS has had this feature for non-APP2 for some time now right?

From Apple’s site:I see
AirPods 3 is what I was using
That one can already show stand-alone case battery?
Better! You can charge your stuff in the car usually... weird logic you are applying with that question... The phone is typically the device that is fed all information and acts as central information hub.Does your car show the charge of your devices?
Same. Mine come and go but also show up on the widget on my lock screen instead of my watch very annoying i have also reset .Mine are constantly connected on the battery widget...they don't appear connected on the BT list tho nor I can see them as an option to play music on while in the case... I reset them few times but nothing... they constantly appear on the battery widget of my 14 Pro Max. Tested them on my ipad mini 6, they disappear from the ipad's widget after a while tho... any ideas? more iOS 16 bugs?
Ive reset them couple of times, seems to be fixed for a little bit and then it happens again. Must be an iOS16 bug as they disappear from my iPad's widget. sighSame. Mine come and go but also show up on the widget on my lock screen instead of my watch very annoying i have also reset .
