Just a small PSA for others that might have the same problem: When the case didn't show up for me I had to reset the AirPods completely (hold button on the back for 15 seconds with the AirPods out and then re-pair to your phone) and now everything works :)

The drawback of this feature is, the case drains faster than it should. I didn't use them for 5 days and the case dropped to 88 percent, and always stayed connected.

I absolutely love this feature. So many times my battery case on previous AirPods was low and I didn’t realize it. However for my new AirPods 2, mine don’t always show in the Widget and I don’t know why. I have a battery widget my Home Screen and Lock Screen. I don’t know what causes it to disappear (or reappear) for that matter.

Sounds like a few of you are also having that issue?

I noticed a few days after i got mine that it was showing up on my widgets all the time but would disappear and come back a-lot. i read on here that it was supposed to always be on the widget but it coming and going was annoying me so I contacted apple for about 2 weeks they said it wasn’t supposed to be like that and running diagnostics and finally sent it to the engineer team after me sending in a screen recording and stuff. After a while I didn’t hear anything back i contacted they 4 times total getting a new senior advisor each time cause my old one wouldn’t reply eventually they said send it in for a new one i did and it still does it so I thought oh well screw it

Update for mine not always showing in the widget. Last night I had to charge my case and when I went to sleep they were showing in the widget. Woke up this morning and they still were showing but they said the case was only 58% charged! At first I thought something was wrong with the charger but when I picked up the airpods case, the widget finally updated and said the case was actually at 100. So now there seems to be an issue of the battery status not staying updated.

These AirPods Pro 2's are the sketchiest product from Apple I have ever seen. Always something odd happening then it may go away, this problem just popped up yesterday. Two months later I still don't know what to think about them. Also the firmware still will not update no matter what I do, got these on the release date.
