Without the stem, the mic quality would be even worse than the ***** it is today. Please focus more on the mics!!
Another thing that I think helps with the AirPods Pro, is the pressure regulation they have for in-ear headphones. It’s what made every other in-ear headset unusable for me, as I couldn’t stand the pressure. And although I occasionally have the Pro’s slip out of my ears (mainly when I haven’t cleaned the cones in a few days), they stay put better than the regular AirPods, which always were a head tip away from falling out. It will be interesting to see what Apple adds to the next iteration of AirPod Pro’s. About the only thing I’d like to see is longer battery life, maybe some additional moisture protection.I wouldn’t. If you want a pair, I think now is the time with plenty of discounts offered. Otherwise, you will always be waiting for the ‘next best product’. I found the AirPods Pro to be kind of uncomfortable, where the regular AirPods rest on the outermost portion of your ear. But everybody’s different. I think the main advantage with the AirPod pros they are louder over the regular AirPods, and the active noise cancellation is excellent.
Could you share what has been the issue?
I love the AirPods Pro but it did take me about a week of one side doing some rubbing in my right ear... it went away.
And before getting the Max ones I would use these almost 24/7 (taking a break only to charge them). After months of that I did get about two days of a clogged-like almost no hearing issue... scary. Wonder if it is similar to your experience.
Care to elaborate?
Strive to be better. technology is about advancements not staying the same place even it may be successful, imho. Not sure why Apple would want to get rid of the stem when it’s so functional... it’s easy to grab and squeezing the stem to play/pause, turn ANC/Transparency mode on/off, etc. is very user-friendly and a big improvement over the original Airpods with the tapping method.
Sounds pretty good..easy to remember and pretty catchy too.Yeah, AirPods Pro and AirPods Pro Max
cool subtle brag broYeah, I don't need these. I already am satisfied with my AirPods Max and AirPods Pro 1st Gen.
Thanks, but no thanks.
- AirPods Max: Desktop headphones, when I am at my desk and doing my work
- AirPods Pro: On the go earbuds, when I am traveling and moving about.
Can't agree more. Squeezing the stem is the best control scheme you can have on Bluetooth earbuds. It beautifully mimics the physical button control on the original EarPods. Not sure why Apple would want to get rid of the stem when it’s so functional... it’s easy to grab and squeezing the stem to play/pause, turn ANC/Transparency mode on/off, etc. is very user-friendly and a big improvement over the original Airpods with the tapping method.
I much prefer the tapping function on the original airpods to change tracks, especially when in the gym, as I find squeezing the stems tends to unseat the fit. Maybe they could come up with a combination of the two? Can't agree more. Squeezing the stem is the best control scheme you can have on Bluetooth earbuds. Seems that MrFootery doesn't agree with me ... yet the product has the proof in the pudding were all reviews agreed that voice quality matches exactly or better than the AirPods of previous models, so ??If you mean beamforming microphones there are nine of them on the AirPods Max, No stem needed.
at least it is wireless...Or a small, unobtrusive pneumatic pump that lets you inflate the ear pieces to the desired size.

Bonus: they'd finally get to use the AirPower name.
Except that they didn't, I can still buy a new iPhone with a home button. They removed the home button.
Same here, the double tap gesture is much quicker and I don’t even need to be that accurate, just hitting my ear will do the trick. Getting my fingers around those little stems to double/triple squeeze them is a much slower and more delicate operation and usually requires me to stop whatever exercise equipment I’m on to do it.I much prefer the tapping function on the original airpods to change tracks, especially when in the gym, as I find squeezing the stems tends to unseat the fit.
