I’ve had a few of those silicone cases and have almost lost my AirPods each time, thankfully I saw them fall off… The stupid silicone loop to attach the key ring to is always to weak and breaks easily.I'm constantly amazed at how little effort people make to solve these small problems.

Hang from a belt buckle, easily accessed, no problems with random banging you don't notice.
Or if you just want to place an airpod somewhere for a minute or two:

Sits on your watch strap, holds your airpods while you talk.
100% agree! What about voice isolation? My biggest pain point with AirPods is that people complain about background noise when I'm on a phone call or conference call, especially if I'm outside. Apple added a Voice Isolation feature in the FaceTime app that helps isolate your voice and block out background noise, but it's not supported for regular phone calls or popular apps like Zoom.
Universal voice isolation on AirPods would be a game changer, because I could walk around the city and talk to people on personal or work calls without them constantly saying "What? I can't hear you." or "Could you go on mute? I can hear the cars/birds/whatever."
I'm not sure why they focused on improving noise cancellation and active transparency so you can hear better, but ignored the flip side of making sure others can hear YOU. IMO noise cancellation was already good enough, but the taking calls in noisy environments is a big hassle with AirPods. I always hold the phone up to my ear because the AirPods microphones are so prone to letting in background noise. Surprised there was no advance in this area.
More likely a satisfying KERCHING!I already have a lanyard from my 1st-generation iPod Shuffle (the white chewing gum package version with no display) so I'm already well-equipped. I'm sure it'll attach with a very satisfying click.
yeah Apple did not mention anything, so it can be those dummy speaker grills like those in iPhones, rumors was its a mic for live listen.Probably a stupid question, but can anyone tell me what the addition single hole on the case is for? All the highlights about the built-in speaker focuses on the three holes on one side but I can't find any mention of what the single hole on the other side of the lightning port does. My first thought was a mic...but then I had no idea why a charging/carrying case would need a mic. Unless I can just yell at it to start beeping instead of using my phone 😂
So much for the improved sound quality we have been hearing about.
Its like a car having storage for a spare tire and then having buy your own spare tireThat seems like some intentionally misleading language in the “what’s in the box” section. It says it includes a “MagSafe Charging Case with speaker and lanyard loop.” One would naturally assume that meant it came with a lanyard.
Because lanyards are literally a dime a dozen and most people probably won’t use it. Hardly anyone I saw use the iPod touch lanyard when that was around.I’m pretty excited about the watch charger capability. Something I have lying around my desk that’s not used often.
That lanyard seems very handy, but why didn’t they just include it?!
No, that’s not the case! I’ve returned Apple-engraved Apple Pencils, iPads, etc. to the Apple Store before. I just don’t remember if you can return an Apple.com engraved product to a physical brick-and-mortar Apple Store, or if you just have to do an online return. But long story short, it’s still returnable in the usual 14-day window.I am guessing that personalizing the case makes it non-returnable.
Such a condescending post eh? Take a hike pal. It's ok, you probably wouldn't be able to take advantage of it because it appears that you may be deaf as you didn't hear Apple describe in detail the improved audio, including new low distortion drivers, wider range of sound frequencies and high bandwidth connectivity.
there's a reason for this.. apparently (speaking to a well known headphone manufacturer) that apple won't allow other companies to up the quality of their headset mics for iOS compatible headphones.Indeed. Absolute garbage. The only thing you can say in favour of the mic performance of the AirPods Pro is that the mics are better than all the other brand wireless earbuds that are made.
Oh give me a break.there's a reason for this.. apparently (speaking to a well known headphone manufacturer) that apple won't allow other companies to up the quality of their headset mics for iOS compatible headphones.
