Not surprised. With the AirPods 4 not having one in the box, was only a matter of time before Apple was going to remove it from all the models.

more inconsistencies with Apple these days. The watch has a charging cable, yet the AirPods do not? Apple is just doing things willynilly. I'm also getting tired of these mass produced videos by Apple, too many cut aways and people yapping about one component of the product, hard to follow.
Perhaps because the watch uses a proprietary connector instead of the ever present usbc?

Got no problem with this other than the price not coming down. Most of us have more cables and adapters than we need.

I wish Apple would exclude the remote from the Apple TV and then drop the price of the ATV. Many of us have multiple remotes that we don’t need.

I don't mind if things don't include a USB-C cable.

The nice thing about nearly everything charging with USB-C is that they can all use the same cable.

And I already have plenty of them. Hooray for standards!

😎

It's becoming more and more reasonable to not include a USB-C cable. I now have plenty of them all over and of course some use the MagSafe charging. And those that need a cable can select the length that suits them. Little need to keep the stack of these cables piling up.

I am tired of low quality usb-c cables included with every tiny gadget (90% of which I never gonna use), so I kinda OK with this decision, I would rather buy a cable or a charger that fits my exact needs (power, lengthy, material, colour etc).

AirPods Pro 4 - no charging case, you will love them and can charge them with the case you already have at home! It’s amazing! And super eco-friendly! Yay!

Let’s be real tho, if you’re buying AirPods, you have an Apple device with a cable
Please don’t bring logic into this conversation.
Yep. I personally have a USBC cable at my nightstand. I charge my phone on it overnight. I charge my AirPods using the same cable in the morning or evening (only needs a short while to top it off). Not for everyone, but probably for most.

Oh Apple, you absolute penny-pinching peasants.
True, but I have a literal box full of cables personally, a good 20+ of them being spare USB-C cables. Surely most of the public have at least one spare cable, if not they are cheap enough.

Like what, a Lightning cable? There's an entire generation of iPhone 11 to 14 users who don't have a USB-C cable.
Well, at least SOME with those phones don't have a USB-C cable. Not sure it's remotely most of them that don't have one let alone all of them. So many devices these days come with a USB-C cable to charge them. Sure that does leave some who have to buy one (inexpensively) this one time. And this is assuming they don't have (or want) a MagSafe charger.

Why would Apple (or anyone for that matter) assume an iPhone 14 user would have a USB-C cable from somewhere? And that such a cable could be permanently repurposed for AirPods?

You buy a $20 pair of Anker wireless earbuds and it comes with a cable.

Apple is like a cheap neighbor who assumes your garden tools are unused so they don't need to buy any.

One of the things I appreciate is getting spare cables when I buy new stuff. It’s nice to have extra and saves me from needing to get spares separately.

This is so annoying, especially when we all know Apple is testing the waters and won’t stop here.

That's not what they are assuming though. They are assuming 'many' have a spare USB-C cable that can be used either solely or shared with some other device. They are assuming that the relatively few that don't have such a cable can buy one cheaply. They are assuming that those that DO have spare cables are getting tired of them piling up and being wasted.

What if the improvements made to AirPods Pro 3 exactly offset the cost of including a cable in the box?

🤔
The APP3 are not much of an upgrade. New tips for better ANC is not ground-breaking, and you now only get 24 hours of total charge from a single case recharge, down from 30 hours. The price should have come down, say 8-10%.

Makes sense imho. Vast majority of folk getting apple ear pod device will have at least one other apple usb C enabled device so no complaints from me.
