Needed an XL option. My APP2 only stay in because I made my own memory foam toroid to put under and expand the silicone dome.

If these things aren’t larger and I can’t force them open a bit they may not retain.

I’m hoping the foam infusion approximates what I’ve got now.

My solution is ok but very marginal. If these things aren’t AirPod is a bit heavier it will fall out just by chewing.

Bought original AirPods first day in like 2015?, and fell out so much they went back a couple of days later.

I want to use these as hearing aids, the pro 2 weren’t as good as my ReSound for clarity and amplification, but I’m hoping the amplification, clarity and retention of the app3 are good or thy go back.

think anyone will try to replicate this model of eartip? even if it offers modest improvement it beats dropping 200 some on the new ones
There are some silicone exterior / foam infused tips out there. I tried one. I found them to be too stiff and not as secure as other foam tips. Really hoping Apple's are something special.

I took standard orange memory foam plugs, sliced off a disk, punched a hole in disk with a leather punch, and folded up some and shoved thru hole. Big improvement in retention and noise suppression. .

So this adds to help bring it up to 2x noise cancellation I presume and not just technology advancements?
Considering a factor of 2 amounts to just 3 dB, I'd say, "yes, foam tips are perhaps the only significant contributor to the 2x noise cancellation."

Not a big fan of the silicone that Apple uses on their headphones, gives me a bad allergic reaction leaving ears red and tender. Never experienced this with any other brand before except for Apple

I like this new product! I am still a bit surprised that it uses the H2 chip. I'd thought years later there'd be a chip upgrade. It doesn't really matter though.

I am still using my AirPods Pro 2 and thoroughly enjoy using it. When the battery finally dies (or doesn't last long enough) I'll upgrade to version 3.

I wonder when they will sell a replacement set of tips for these.
They’re already available for pretty much the same price as replacement APP2 tips. In the US they are $10 for two pairs of the same size, or $15 for a five pairs in all sizes.

I’ve bought every version of AirPods Apple has released, and not a single one stays securely in my ears. One pair even slipped out and fell into the toilet while I was just standing there using it. I’ll give the new ones a shot, but I definitely have my doubts. So far, the only earbuds that truly work for me are the Powerbeats Pro with the over-the-ear hooks.

This is one of the few issues that I haven't over-thought. I just used the APP2s as they came in the box, and the fit test in the app indicated the fit was good. What -- I am supposed to try each tip size and run the test to optimize the fit? I don't know whether I am so lucky that my ears are at the median anatomically, or this is another place where too many users are just too special.

Will hang on to my APP2 until they add a new chip. Something tells me they will keep bringing most of the new features to them as well.

I'm going to give them a try, but every foam tip I've tried have caused sound occlusion, making me overly aware of my bodies own sounds (breathing, my voice, etc.) which I find quite distracting while listening to music/podcasts/audiobooks.

Curious for those with small ear canals: I've never been able to comfortably wear AirPods or Pros, or really any Apple earbud since their first redesign.

Are you also a little hopeful these might actually be comfy?
The problem has mostly been the size of the earbuds. I actually fit size M tips on the AirPods Pro 2 but they fall out because of the size of the buds. The combined smaller earbuds and foam infused silicone tips with more sizes addresses it from 2 angles so I'm hopeful.
Good to know. Should help in getting a better fit for more people. Lack of charging cable is disappointing but not surprised.
They charge wirelessly using the Apple Watch MagSafe charger.
