AirPods Pro is hand down my favorite Apple product. I have very sensitive ears and tinnitus and it's been life saver at concerts or car events. I can enjoy them without being worried about my ears. I will buy the next version at the launch day. But knowing Apple, addition of both sensor won't probably happen. Too much of an upgrade in one revision.

I buy AirPods for sound, not for health. Just keep improving audio please and no health sensors that make it even more expensive.

You’re not the only customer, and AirPods are very popular for people who are exercising (and especially running) so these sensors make a lot of sense.

“Apple's ‌iPhone‌ Translate app can already be used for conversations like this, but having the function included in the AirPods will streamline the exchange.”

What Apple Translate app?

Surprise! Gurman was wrong on a timeline again. Add this to every other rumor he has made in the past couple years.

and what about all the rumors he's gotten right? Because there have been a LOT of those, too.

Personally, what maddens me about Gurman is that he doesn't take any accountability or explain when he gets things colossally wrong, so his rumors always leave a foul taste in the mouth, even when they end up being proven correct.

Sealed ear-canal headphones, including AirPods Pro, make a loud drumming/thumping sound (occlusion effect) in my head when running. I've read it's fairly common.

The open-ear regular AirPods work fine..wonder if they will add any of these sensors to them?

SQ and battery life. All I care about when it comes to headphones, thanks.
As for Translation.. Siri can’t even understand when I speak clear English, so not holding my breath for translation features anytime soon.

Translation was supposed to be the great feature for the new Apple AirPods pro and of course it's delayed!

Apple should stop announcing features they can never deliver on time.

The APPs are meant for sound and noise suppression so focus on those instead.
Adding health sensors, as those sensors will, probably marginally, still use up more battery life.

Why do we need health sensors in headphones? I’ll want better sound quality. That’s what headphones are made for.
I hear what you're saying... I am sure NC and Transparency modes will improve. I do feel sound quality overall is great and just keeps getting better. Now the fun part, will we even notice any perceived sound improvements?

My Pro's started to die on me yesterday (NC no longer works and I am pretty sure my right AirPods barely works at all now...) Coming from 1st Generation Pro's - I'll be happy with whatever updates they want to sneak in.

I hope ANC will be much better - AirPods Pro 2 is good but sometimes not good enough with very loud noises or children strident cries 🫨

Apple delays translation, meanwhile Google releases this

There's not excuse for Apple - they are giants and all of these delays would never happen with Jobs at the helm..
iPhone OS 2.0, 3.0 and iOS 4 all had delayed features that didn’t make it to the initial release, under Steve Jobs’s watch.
Not to mention the white iPhone 4, the initial launch of Mac OS X Chita and Leopard, which were all delayed more than once.

Is live translation part of "Apple Intelligence"? So, is that going to be based on Google Translate if Apple licenses Google's tech?
Translation is non-generative AI (aka Machine Learning) and takes place on-device. It will not need or use Google Translate.

Apple's upcoming AirPods Pro 3 will indeed feature in-ear temperature sensing as well as heart-rate sensing, but the rumored live translation feature is not ready for launch and will instead arrive in a later software update. That's according to an anonymous tip received by 9to5Mac.

AirPods-Pro-3-Thumb-2.jpg

Apple is known to have been working on a variety of health features for future AirPods, including heart rate monitoring and temperature sensing – Bloomberg reported as much in December 2024. Since then, heart-rate monitoring has debuted in Apple's Powerbeats Pro, making the feature a dead cert for the company's next-generation AirPods Pro earbuds. In contrast, further details about temperature sensing have been lacking.

As for AirPods live translation, we've already seen hints of its development in Apple imagery found in iOS 26 beta. The AirPods will be able to provide a simpler translation process for people who are speaking different languages, though the process will rely on the Translate app on the iPhone.

For example, if an English speaker with AirPods is talking to someone who is speaking Spanish, the ‌iPhone‌ will detect the audio, translate the speech, and relay it back in English to the person wearing AirPods. The person speaking English will then be able to respond and have their response translated to Spanish and spoken aloud by the ‌iPhone‌. Apple's ‌iPhone‌ Translate app can already be used for conversations like this, but having the function included in the AirPods will streamline the exchange.

Inclusion of new health sensors makes sense – Apple has been pushing AirPods as health accessories for some time now, while iOS 18 added a suite of hearing health capabilities that test for hearing issues and allow the AirPods to be used as a hearing aid if problems are detected.
We should know if the anonymous tipster's information is accurate very soon. Apple is expected to debut AirPods Pro 3 alongside iPhone 17 models at its "Awe dropping" event scheduled for Tuesday, September 9. Other changes likely coming to the new earbuds include design and case tweaks, audio improvements, and additional new features arriving to all AirPods Pro models via a firmware update as part of iOS 26.

There never was going to be a “Live translation” feature on AirPods. The infographic everyone refers to on this topic is just a gesture to activate it.

Otherwise, the feature is the same as the one on the Apple Watch that uses the translate platform (not app - this is a platform API) to do exactly this.

Even if the translation feature is delayed, would like to see many languages to be supported at launch. Definitely expecting to see heart rate monitoring.

Apple announced live translation being a feature for the new Air Pods Pro and now it's delayed. Another failure like AI.
Oh really? I invite you to find this announcement somewhere.

Spoiler alert: you won’t find it anywhere because it has never been an announcement. Only always a rumor..

(Rumor that solid hints shows it to be probably true, but still: Apple never officially announced it)

It was announced at WWDC 2025. Try again.

Unveiled during the company's WWDC 2025 presentation on Monday, Live Translation will, as the name suggests, offer on-the-fly language translation across the Phone, Messages and FaceTime apps in iOS 26, after years of the company dabbling with translation as its own app or via Siri.

It's an AI-powered service, marking the company's latest effort to provide greater value from its Apple Intelligence AI systems, after the relatively tepid rollout in the last year.

You should try again because it’s not the same feature. You are talking about live translation for phones message and FaceTime app. This feature works only in these apps or third party integration, but not with AirPods in real Life.

This is absolutely not the same as live translation for AirPod Pro who is supposed to translate real life conversation only with live audio.

And the AirPod Pro feature as mentioned earlier has never been announced by Apple.

Here is an article about how live translation works in iOS 26, and it has already been delivered on the beta, so they are no late:

Apparently you must be Gurman because you act like you know everything. Even AI believes it was announced. Straight from Gemini AI.

Apple is expected to release a live translation feature for AirPods with the iOS 26 update, which will translate in-person conversations using your iPhone's microphone and the Apple Translate app. The feature has been suggested by code found in the iOS 26 beta and is expected to be activated by a new gesture, such as pressing both AirPods stems. While not available for AirPods 3rd generation specifically, existing models like the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 may gain the capability through a software update.

Read again what you just wrote:

Suggested by code found in the beta. If you don’t know the difference between this and something that’s been officially anounced, i can’t do anything else for you..

Like I Said: they never announced it, or communicated about it. Officially, this feature does not exist (yet)
