He tested the new heart rate monitoring feature on the AirPods Pro 3, and he said the results are surprisingly accurate for such a small in-ear sensor. You can wear the AirPods Pro 3 and the Apple Watch together to receive an even more accurate heart rate reading during your workouts.
Is that true? I thought the Powerbeats Pro 2 stopped tracking heart rate if you were tracking it via the Apple Watch. Do the AirPods Pro 3 “combine” both heart rate sensors for a supposedly more accurate reading?

unfortunate that the joins of the 2 halfs of the pro 3's buds is visible, at £219/$249 i'd expect seamless joining of the bud casing :/

Wait for more reviews. The reviews out now are "favored reviewers" by Apple, which is why they have the Air Pods Pro 3 already, but their reviews are more likely to have a positive bias, as they're in Apple's "good books"

I'll be much more interested in s wide range of reviews, where more of the reviewers did not receive "advance review" units.

I expect (and hope) the majority of review will be positive, but I would like more objectivity. For that we need reviewers from outside the "Apple send us free stuff" community.
They are, but while simps like iJustine should be 100% ignored, I’ve found others like MKBHD to be objectively legit. His dubious take on the 17 Air, for example, was refreshing after the flood of gushing videos last week.
I’m still going to keep my pre-order, as my launch Gen 2’s are on their last leg battery-wise, but it’s nice to have some of my concerns and questions addressed prior to delivery.

I'm interested in these. My Apple Watch does not always consistently track heart rate during exercises. I can have 5 - 15 minutes of blank metrics every so often or it will miss the entire workout. It's not a huge deal but is an annoyance.

My big unknown is the comfort of the new tips. I find the current ones highly comfortable. With the new ones having foam in them and being called "stiffer" (WSJ review), that's a potential issue for me. We'll see. I'm not due to a replacement for another year or so.

My greatest use case is for use as hearing aids. My APP2 are tuned to the audiogram from my audiologist. Plus I modified the ear tips with a memory foam backer to get them to retain and it also extra dampens outside sound.

But for me the APP2 performance is of marginal help. They aren’t very good for me in a restaurant situation as conversation boost doesn’t seem to work well.

Hoping the dynamic equalizer means it will be worth a try out.

My issue with all AirPod models is that they make my ears sore after a little bit. A little bit not being 10 minutes. Closer to an hour. My Pro 2 fit well, but they tend to creep out as time goes by, more so when talking.
I highly recommend the Comply foam tips, which squish down like earplugs to go into the ear canals. I find they stay very firmly in place, even when I'm sweating. They have a limited lifespan, but you get 3 pairs in the package. The foam also adds some passive noise cancelling that makes them quieter.

Is there any comparison of the ANC between the AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 2 or 3?
There are many out there on the internet comparing the AirPods 4 ANC and AirPods Pro 2.

I use my AirPods Pro 2 several times a day, every day. I can't imagine being without them. I use them for phone calls, listening to videos on my iPad, and for hearing protection here on the farm.

The 3s reportedly have a better fit, better sound, better noise cancellation, and longer battery life. If so, I'll happily upgrade for $250, and give my APP2 to a family member or friend.

I only use my APP 2 when someone on the subway or in a restaurant is loudly endorsing some politically motivated hatred and I can't stand listening. The noise cancellation and loud music generally does the trick. Most of what I listen to was recorded before 1960, so ultimate sound quality is less important. But improved NC? Maybe.

APP2 always wiggle out of my ears, regardless of the size of the silicone size. I'm optimistic these will stay in my ears due to the new overall shape and embedded foam.

Meh, I wouldn't agree with your opinion of him.

He pushes people to spend as much as possible, so he's far too "loadasmoney!" for me. He actively plays on "snob value".

If you gave him two identical products, but told him the RRP of one was twice as much as the other, I'd lay a bet that he'd recommend the more expensive 'identical" product.

99% sure the issue with the PBP2 was if you paired them with a treadmill or similar, not with your phone.

I haven't noticed that. I don't watch most of his videos but I've seen a few where he specifically says that while the product may be decent, its overall value is low because of the price. He's said this about Apple products too, even though some claim he's an Apple shill.

However, my bigger concern is his propensity for driving very dangerously. He actually posted himself on YouTube going nearly 100 mph in a 35 zone. He blurred out the speedometer, but forgot he had a second speedometer that the whole world could see.

Feeling happy John?

I might upgrade later but when they're around 160 or so price. No rush. I'm good with the pro 2 ones.
When do the AirPods Pro typically go on sale? I currently have the AirPods 1 and 2 which are fine in my home office since I don't need ANC at home. However, I'm in Canada, so sales in other countries wouldn't apply for us.

I own the AirPod Pro 1 and eventually upgraded to the APP2 due to battery life, etc. at the time. I used the HECK out of my APP1 and the APP2 was with the upgrade to me. I use them a solid amount and plan to upgrade in the future as needed.
