Also coming from the Pro 1, tempted to retire them, but I'm cheap and they still work really well! Their planned obsolescence isn't working quickly enough. ;)
I'm only tempted to upgrade as i get some awful disconnection issues when my trackpad is enabled (perhaps some difference in the freq?) and i'm connected to my external displays. Very weird. I have custom made tips for them and as i don't use them for music or commuting, only meetings and YouTube, it is harder to justify!

I own the AirPod Pro 1 and eventually upgraded to the APP2 due to battery life, etc. at the time. I used the HECK out of my APP1 and the APP2 was with the upgrade to me. I use them a solid amount and plan to upgrade in the future as needed.
Battery is a big motivator here, as after nearly six years of use they get a few hours, but I do carry two cases with me in case i'm traveling and need it. Considering I paid £200 back in 2019 off a gift card present from work, they haven't done bad.

I've just found the receipt in my email, I have been using them for 2193 days. So even if i had used my own money to buy them, it would be about 9 pence a day. Not bad !

When testing the voice quality through the microphone, it would be helpful to let us know which microphone setting you are using. ie. automatic, standard, voice isolation, or wide spectrum. This makes a big difference on calls with my APP2.

I haven't noticed that. I don't watch most of his videos but I've seen a few where he specifically says that while the product may be decent, its overall value is low because of the price. He's said this about Apple products too, even though some claim he's an Apple shill.

However, my bigger concern is his propensity for driving very dangerously. He actually posted himself on YouTube going nearly 100 mph in a 35 zone. He blurred out the speedometer, but forgot he had a second speedometer that the whole world could see.

The "Apple shill" reputation comes from Louis Rossmann - It's up to you to decide if Rossmann has a valid point or not ( Rossmann has done some good things on "right to repair", etc, but he's more than a little bit edgy, so it's not necessarily a "four legs good, two legs bad" situation.

I was so impressed with the upgrade from APP1 to APP2. If APP3 are even better, I’m sold and will definitely give them a try.

I value sound quality pretty high and even slight improvements I might notice would be worth paying for. To me, the difference in sound quality from gen 1 to gen 2 was very significant.

unfortunate that the joins of the 2 halfs of the pro 3's buds is visible, at £219/$249 i'd expect seamless joining of the bud casing :/
Are they going to pour the drivers and controllers in before sealing the bottom up like some sort of metallic cocktail?

There are visible seams on the outer of my Sennheiser ie900/600/400, iems that cost about £900/£600 & £400 respectively, so Apple are not the outliers here.

Yikes. That should be an instant and permanent driving ban. ****ing sociopath.

Day 1 APP 1 had the most insane noise cancellation I have ever experienced. The Apple store went almost completely silent, and it felt life-changing. Then Apple subsequently nerfed the ANC with forced firmware updates.
Those were the best. I couldn't hear anything on the street, honking sounds were reduced to less than 50% loudness.

I use my AirPods Pro 2 several times a day, every day. I can't imagine being without them. I use them for phone calls, listening to videos on my iPad, and for hearing protection here on the farm.

The 3s reportedly have a better fit, better sound, better noise cancellation, and longer battery life. If so, I'll happily upgrade for $250, and give my APP2 to a family member or friend.
Who pays $250 for APPs when they eventually go on sale for $60-80 off within a few months?

I'll be buying these as soon as there's a decent sale on them. I used my APP1s and now use my APP2s every single day. Happy to pay what likely works out to $0.20 or less per day (based on a 3ish year lifespan) for the nice upgrades in each new generation.

  1. XXS ear tip option: AirPods Pro 3 come with new XXS silicone ear tips, along with the same XS, S, M, L sizes included with the AirPods Pro 2. Apple says the tips are now infused with foam for greater passive noise isolation.
XXS? How about XL? I can’t be the only person feeling like they’re going to fall out because they’re too small?

When do the AirPods Pro typically go on sale? I currently have the AirPods 1 and 2 which are fine in my home office since I don't need ANC at home. However, I'm in Canada, so sales in other countries wouldn't apply for us.
Usually by black friday or early sales. Then frequent sales afterwards

Yeah, the reason I bought the AirPods 2 was because of battery life for my AirPods 1. I used them while working and alternate. When one runs out, I use the other and charge the first pair. My AirPods 1 are on their second set (replaced for battery life) but it may be time to get AirPods with longer battery life that can work for both work and on the plane or mowing the lawn.

Ah, that would make sense. I can't stand Louis Rossman. I stopped watching his content many, many years ago.

Agreed there should be a severe penalty, although maybe not a permanent lifetime ban. However, if AFAIK, he got out of that pretty unscathed legally. And his viewers seem to have forgotten about it. He's as popular as ever.

Wait for more reviews. The reviews out now are "favored reviewers" by Apple, which is why they have the Air Pods Pro 3 already, but their reviews are more likely to have a positive bias, as they're in Apple's "good books"

I'll be much more interested in s wide range of reviews, where more of the reviewers did not receive "advance review" units.

I expect (and hope) the majority of review will be positive, but I would like more objectivity. For that we need reviewers from outside the "Apple send us free stuff" community.
Agreed, and I am specifically looking for unbiased reviews about the sound quality of music, versus the Airpods Pro 2, since I use airpods mostly for listening to music.

I will wait for next year, when Apple has the decency to change the H2 processor that I have from years ago.
