They didn’t explain at all how the ANC or sound is better.I'm a bit conflicted. From what I saw, I'm not convinced that audio quality will be much better, compared to 2nd gen. I will wait for reviews. Also, seems like the charging case hold less charge.
The earpiece might have a longer battery, but the case itself has reduced battery. So won’t say this is a huge update either. They didn’t explain at all how the ANC or sound is better.
The better ANC might just be due to the foam tips.
They didn’t talk about drivers or anything which makes me skeptical about any improved audio quality.
They’re still using the H2 chip as well.
This feels like such a lazy update. 3 years and basically the exact same tech.
The fit better be perfect and the battery life better actually be 8 hours for this to be worth it.
I think it’s a known bug with some 1st Gen Pros that ANC eventually dies and you get a very loud piercing sound, so I’ve just coped without ANC for the past 12-18 months. Not deterred though, I will definitely buy the new 3rd Gen Pros. What happened to your ANC?

I think the improved noise reduction is because of the form infused tips. I will wait for the early adopters before I upgrade.I also pre-ordered, after now comparing the AirPods Pro 3 with the predecessor, it seems to me that they have not really improved, so an update is worth it? Live streaming is also possible with AirPods Pro 2 and requires a reasonably current iPhone anyway. When you compare the technical specifications of both headphones, it is not obvious that the noise reduction should be better. Apart from the leaflets in today's performance. Difficult, I will wait a few days to see if my acceptance is confirmed, and cancel if necessary.
So is this 2026 mid-model infrared camera/hand motion control update rumor a nothingburger??
Fair enough. I was just reaaalllly hoping it could be shot down to simplify the decision tree!it was a rumor.
It still is a rumor.
can't say it's a nothing burger till 2026 rolls around and it doesn't happen.
just because some people on here, and elsewhere on the internet, treat rumors with the same weight as an Apple press release doesn't make them true. also doesn't make them false.
Looks like they downsized the accessories and you no longer get a USB-C charge cable.
When you purchased an AirPods Pro 2, Apple would provide a USB-C charge cable in the box as well.
They removed the USB-C cable from the AirPods Pro 3.

Live translate in 5 languages is just embarrassing.
- English (United Kingdom)
- English (United States)
- French (France) - not available in the EU (!!!!)
- German (Germany)
- Portuguese (Brazil)
- Spanish (Spain) - not available in the EU (!!!!)
Went up $30AUD here
Btw, Live translation will be supported on Airpod Pro 2's.They gone down in price by £10 in the UK to £219. Lot's of interesting new features that may or may not improve on the 2s for me.
Looking forward to giving them a try but five languages for translation is a poor start. I've no doubt that Apple will be adding more languages as time goes on but I think it will be a while before they add Thai to the list.
