I'm a bit conflicted. From what I saw, I'm not convinced that audio quality will be much better, compared to 2nd gen. I will wait for reviews. Also, seems like the charging case hold less charge.
They didn’t explain at all how the ANC or sound is better.

The better ANC might just be due to the foam tips.

They didn’t talk about drivers or anything which makes me skeptical about any improved audio quality.

They’re still using the H2 chip as well.

This feels like such a lazy update. 3 years and basically the exact same tech.

The fit better be perfect and the battery life better actually be 8 hours for this to be worth it.

The earpiece might have a longer battery, but the case itself has reduced battery. So won’t say this is a huge update either.

I agree with all of the rest. Also, when they talk about better acoustics, because of the new design, they only mention Spatial Audio… so not sure how much better they would be overall.

They gone down in price by £10 in the UK to £219. Lot's of interesting new features that may or may not improve on the 2s for me.

Looking forward to giving them a try but five languages for translation is a poor start. I've no doubt that Apple will be adding more languages as time goes on but I think it will be a while before they add Thai to the list.

I think it’s a known bug with some 1st Gen Pros that ANC eventually dies and you get a very loud piercing sound, so I’ve just coped without ANC for the past 12-18 months. Not deterred though, I will definitely buy the new 3rd Gen Pros.

Yikes ... they don't hook you up with a replacement for that? (even out of AC coverage)

That's bad

I’ll be trading in my 1-year-old Pro 2 and picking up the Pro 3.
I’ve been a heavy AirPods Pro user since the first gen, so the improvement in sound quality (and bass) plus the better ANC is enough reason for me to upgrade.

Since AirPods don’t get yearly updates, it makes the most sense to trade the Pro 2 now and upgrade. They’ll only keep depreciating, while the Pro 3 price will stay the same for at least a few years.

I also pre-ordered, after now comparing the AirPods Pro 3 with the predecessor, it seems to me that they have not really improved, so an update is worth it? Live streaming is also possible with AirPods Pro 2 and requires a reasonably current iPhone anyway. When you compare the technical specifications of both headphones, it is not obvious that the noise reduction should be better. Apart from the leaflets in today's performance. Difficult, I will wait a few days to see if my acceptance is confirmed, and cancel if necessary.
I think the improved noise reduction is because of the form infused tips. I will wait for the early adopters before I upgrade.

The only thing sound wise that Apple mentioned was a changed air chamber for better base.

Looks like they downsized the accessories and you no longer get a USB-C charge cable.

When you purchased an AirPods Pro 2, Apple would provide a USB-C charge cable in the box as well.

They removed the USB-C cable from the AirPods Pro 3.

See screenshot below.

I know the case sizes are different AP P2 to P3, but has it been confirmed that the BellRoy and DBrand cases P2 will not work with P3?

So is this 2026 mid-model infrared camera/hand motion control update rumor a nothingburger??

it was a rumor.
It still is a rumor.
can't say it's a nothing burger till 2026 rolls around and it doesn't happen.

just because some people on here, and elsewhere on the internet, treat rumors with the same weight as an Apple press release doesn't make them true. also doesn't make them false.

Fair enough. I was just reaaalllly hoping it could be shot down to simplify the decision tree!

Jeez louise!

Tim is bloody cheap.

Live translate in 5 languages is just embarrassing.
  • English (United Kingdom)
  • English (United States)
  • French (France) - not available in the EU (!!!!)
  • German (Germany)
  • Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Spanish (Spain) - not available in the EU (!!!!)

Exactly, I’m a HS cafeteria manager in LA all my employees except my assistant speak Bengali, I was ready lol. But honestly they always laugh because I can use body language to know what’s going on already. They told me I don’t need them.

I glad I’m a little older and do my research before just impulse preordering. After seeing the limited supported live translation languages at launch, the AirPod Pros 2 will have live translation, and the live translation won’t be available right at launch Im not going to preorder and will wait. I will definitely be upgrading soon. Thinking maybe Costco might have it for a few bucks off. But for the love of all things Apple why couldn’t we get one dang new color.

I wonder how this new heart rate sensor works during workouts when wearing an Apple Watch at the same time? Which device is ultimately measuring the heart rate, the watch or the AirPods?

This audio guy went hands on with the AirPod Pro 3’s, he says there’s a clear difference and a clear upgrade. Apparently they have been rebuilt on the inside with upgrades.

Btw, Live translation will be supported on Airpod Pro 2's.

Currently on APP2, daily usage. Biggest niggle is wind noise during outdoor workouts, e.g. cycling. If APP3 has improved in that area, I would immediately upgrade. Second, would be nice to have Auracast support.
