Same h2 quick the better anc and sound is only because of the tips not the sound driver

the only way anc is 2x better is because of the foam tips, which they could release in AirPods Pro 2. The h2 chip is the same, that’s what makes a difference the chip

You are so wrong there is internal changes not only tips… For sound quality “A new multiport acoustic architecture for deeper bass, a wider soundstage so you hear every note, and stunningly vivid vocal clarity” and for ANC “Designed with an upgraded acoustic seal, AirPods Pro 3 automatically adapt to your environment and preferences. And new ultra-low-noise microphones remove even more unwanted sound. ” That’s the difference and also acoustic seal is from foam tips.

Engadget did say the ANC was better, especially the sound of people speaking, but thought some of that was down to better fitting ear tips. Will wait until proper testing starts rather than a quick hands on outside the Steve Jobs Theatre, but doesn’t sound like an essential upgrade from AirPods Pro 2 at the moment.

Already pre ordered for the airpods pro 3. upgrading from my first gen airpod pro. Can’t wait.
This is the comparison i'm after.
I like are more battery life
Yeah it's good, but I wonder how much better it would've been with Bluetooth 7??

I was hoping Apple finally include lossless audio streaming. So I’m a bit disappointed.
Lossless audio is a bit of scam anyway. Indiscernable to just about anyone from what I read.

Has anybody seen any videos or testing results from folks who got an early preview or demo. I just want to 2 vs 3 when it comes to microphone noise cancellation for the called party as I only use it for phone calls and don’t want to appear to be outdoors.

Looks like they downsized the accessories and you no longer get a USB-C charge cable.

When you purchased an AirPods Pro 2, Apple would provide a USB-C charge cable in the box as well.

They removed the USB-C cable from the AirPods Pro 3.

See screenshot below.
Uncle Timmy will claim it’s saving the planet, you’ve all got far too many USB C cables, you don’t need any more. But we will sell you one if your need it.

I mean, would he be wrong? That's one of the benefits of everything finally going to USB-C. I've got those cables all over the house now. It may also be how they managed to stay away from a price increase.

You are Uncle Timmy and I claim my £5. So you’re saying it’s basically shrinkflation, maybe but it wasn’t last time it was Apple squeezing more pips from its customers.

Im purchasing it for battery life, and better fitting ear pieces. The rest is just an extra bonus.

This is disappointing, but coming from APP1s, I think I'll still be doing well.
Thats interesting - so the buds such more juice, so the charging case isn't as effective. While thats a consideration, in my use case, I can use my buds for very long periods of time, and leave my case charging. Also because of the age, my buds don't last a long time, so the charging case having less juice relative to the buds won't be a factor for me, but its still something people should be aware of.

My buds seem to run out of juice more often when I need them, than the charging case. The charging case also seems to charge much faster than the buds, so while it may not charge the Pro 3 as many times, charging the case faster with or without the buds, with the buds lasting much longer, will reduce the number of times I've run out of usage when I need them - hopefully...

Live Translate will NOT work in the EU ! Massive disappointment…

I wonder if that includes the UK.

Live translate in 5 languages is just embarrassing.
  • English (United Kingdom)
  • English (United States)
  • French (France) - not available in the EU (!!!!)
  • German (Germany)
  • Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Spanish (Spain) - not available in the EU (!!!!)
Curious. How many languages where you expecting??

For European Union residents
Most Apple Intelligence features are available with iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 or later on supported iPhone and iPad models, and with macOS Sequoia 15.1 or later on supported Mac models.

Live Translation with AirPods is not available if you are in the EU and your Apple Account Country or Region is also in the EU.

Personally, I was at least expecting these commonly used lanaguages to also be included on the list, so that I can understand what these folks are saying:
  • Italian
  • English (Trump)

No we are not part of the European Union anymore so this will work

I’m just hoping Apple will support more languages….because that’s really poor, especially as AI is the base!

I still have the app2 lighting version and wondering if I should get app3
If the Lightning cable is bothering you then you could charge it wirelessly with the Magsafe charger. You'll never need the Lightning port again as long as you got the Magsafe charger around and of course it charges all Magsafe iPhones which are most of them which the exception of the iPhone SE and the 16e. That's the cheapest way to get rid of Lightning without replacing the Airpods altogether.

I wouldn't replace the Pro 2's if they're still working fine and battery life isn't an issue. The new Pro 3's got the same H2 chip and features if we ignore that workout sensor.

I’ll be trading in my 1-year-old Pro 2 and picking up the Pro 3.
There is no Airpods trade in. And it doesn't make much sense to replace USB-C Pro 2's after just a year unless you want to keep the Airpods in your ear for more than 6 hours at a time and need the better batteries. Same features with the same H2 chip and you can get good quality Comply foam eartips for the Pro 2's as well.

Biggest niggle is wind noise during outdoor workouts, e.g. cycling. If APP3 has improved in that area, I would immediately upgrade.
It's unlikely to be any different using the same H2 chip. Wind noise has been an issue for ANC since day 1 for all headphone manufacturers.
