This has been an issue since the 1st gen. Already fooled me twice, Tim.
Same with me, I had my 1st gen replaced 3 times and sucked me into buying AppleCare within the first year. I still have the last replacement AirPods Pro 1, I have to leave ANC off. My 2nd Gen is much improved but still occurs some times when I apply pressure on the AirPods when in my ear. My son can also create the high pitch squeal on his AirPods 4 with ANC. It is some sort of feedback with the mike.

Hearing this, I definitely am holding off / not buying the 3rd Gen.

It’s crazy, I bought Airpods Pro 3 on a deal from uber eats and best buy and had to get them replaced due to a lot of static noise watching videos on a plane. How has Apple not addressed this? I’m on 8B30.

Since the AirPods Pro 3 launched, there have been complaints from users who have noticed a static-like sound or a crackling issue when using the earbuds, particularly when Active Noise Cancellation is on but no media is playing. Users have also run into strange high-pitched whistling sounds that happen intermittently.

We shared the issues back in late October, and despite two subsequent firmware updates, the problems haven't been solved. Apple released AirPods Pro 3 firmware version 8B25 in November, and firmware version 8B30 on December 10.

Feedback from users who have installed the firmware updates indicate that the noise issues have not been addressed. Affected users are hearing static noises with Active Noise Cancellation on, sometimes with media playing and sometimes without. There have also been reports of problems with latency and sound syncing when watching videos.

Some AirPods Pro 3 users have had their AirPods replaced by Apple, but replacement earbuds have had the same issue, so it's not clear if there is a hardware fix for the problem.

Apple's latest firmware updates have not provided details on what's included, specifying only "bug fixes and other improvements."

After minor ear damage from the noise I threw my AirPods Pro in the trash and bought a different brand. Completely solved the noise problem.

Is this a widespread issue with the APP3? I’m sure the mainstream media would have picked up on it by if it was. Maybe just a batch were defective and that’s it? I’ve decided to keep using my lightning APP2 for now and wait until late next year before I upgrade. I think there was a rumor of the APP4 coming out next year with an upgraded H3 chip?

Ive never had any issues like these with any of my AirPods Pro's. I did have my gen1s replaced for a fault but never had any extra noises.
I was over the moon when the 3's came out, but I feel the ANC is a bit off. Low rumble close by seems to get amplified quite a bit. Definitely not as good as the gen 2. I regret getting the 3's, but only because I really didnt need to.

Wow. Really?

Does the ANC last all night?

What noise are you trying to not hear?
Yup, lasts all night with a full charge! My 2’s would die in the middle of the night, I usually sleep for 6-8 hours. I am mostly blocking out my partners incredibly loud snoring 😂 and also some street noise

I’m done. Had mine replaced twice and issue reoccurs. Love the headphones but literally within a week of having them changed, the left Airpod had to be changed again. I the experience the static issue and Apple is refusing to change them again.

My AirPods Pro 3 just started having this issue on Thursday last week. Whistling and static on all noise control modes except “Off”. Since I have AppleCare+, I requested express replacement and received my replacement buds yesterday (Monday). Sadly the issue just started reoccurring today. I’m so disappointed. Hopefully this is a firmware bug and Apple is hard at work on a fix. In the meantime, I may have to switch to my Powerbeats Fit as my daily drivers until this is resolved.
