Yes... as long as all your devices can connect with this setup.
 
Dang... looks like they have gimped Airport Utility even more than it was already. What version is that you have there on Yosemite? I am on the newest 6.3.2 on Mavericks.

Not clear as to what you guys are referring to about version. Talking about which Airport Utility version number by chance ? If so, both with Mavericks and now Yosemite my Airport Utility is updated to 7.7.3..Or am I missing something

Referring to the Airport Utility software used to configure an Airport router. 7.7.3 is site router hardware's firmware version number.
