Well all moved into the new house and their is so much interference. I upgraded the intent plan to 50 Mbs. I'm getting that via Ethernet from my APE to iMac. One room away it cut to 35 Mbs:eek:. And down stairs I'm down to 20 Mbps:mad:.so I'm sure in will need a 2nd router down stairs. Now waiting til WWDC for a APE with AC and maybe a USB 3.0/TB port:confused:

Apart from what was said already, the extreme can connect at 450mb/s while the express is 300.

New hardware required?

It would be nice to get wireless gigabit transfer speeds within our home networks.

Would this require new hardware? I have the most recent Mac Mini...will a new firmware make it AC compatible?

Why does my coverage suck so bad with my Airport Extreme?? I have one story, 1500 ft-sq house and it barely reaches to other rooms, if at all!

it's how your house is constructed, both in design and materials. hard wood floors are bad. i have a 5 bedroom, 3000 square foot house and i have 2 extremes and 1 express for coverage.

That definitely is not normal. My Time Capsule goes through two interior walls and a stucco exterior wall all the way across my backyard with an iPad.

Have you tried maybe moving it around a little or a different angle?

I moved it but it didn't help. :(

I can't move it out the bedroom so i'll have to bare it. Bloody annoying though.

With 3 APE's do you speeds vary depending on which part of the house/which router your using?

there is no noticeable difference where the new extreme and the new express are. they are both current models. in my master bedroom, the extreme is older and does not support dual band. it is also significantly farther away from the other two routers with many more walls/doors in between.

Well in the new house my 50 Mbps is cut to 20 Mbps down stairs on my iPad and iPhone 4S. I'm picking up a 4th Gen AP Extreme and will connect it down stairs via Ethernet over power line to help with the coverage and slowdown. Dude is selling it for $30 bucks, it is Gen 4. Thoughts?

So I set up the 2nd AP Extreme (4th Gen) down stairs via ethernet over power line. Still only getting 25 mbps by wifi. What gives??

I have never used any of them but was thinking of using gen AirPort Extreme but was not knowing about its pros and cons but know I think so I should go with it a it is really good after knowing it review above.
